Benchmade D2 Steel Griptilian Plain Blade Knives -
Benchmade knives combine distinctive artisan quality of a custom blade with laser precision to create spacing tolerances as low as .0005", less than 1/16th the thickness of a human hair. The patented AXIS™ mechanism of the Griptilian locks the blade in place with incomparable smoothness and unsurpassed stability. Omega-style springs on both sides of the handle secure the locking bar to prevent accidental closing. The D2 Tool steel blade hardened to 60-62 Rockwell holds a razor-like edge and is treated with a BK1® coating to prevent rust and corrosion. And for a solid grip in wet or dry conditions alike, the palm-contoured handle has a swelled base and molded texture for slip resistance. An Ambidextrous thumb stud facilitates fast, one-handed opening. It also has a reversible steel carry clip.
Blade length: 3.45".
Closed length: 4.62".
Weight: 3.25 ounces.
Colors: Black, Olive Drab.

Benchmade D2 Steel Griptilian Plain Blade Knives Reviews:

Practical EDC

I found this in the store without reading a single review. It was a little outside my price range but the size and fit is perfect and it is D2 steel (made in USA). Have carried a pocket folder for years in the service and Telco industry. The blade is exactly the width of my hand and the handle fits my palm perfectly. I jump in and out of a vehicle often and the knife doesn't bunch up and pinch in my pocket uncomfortably like some other pocket knives I have had. I can tell a lot of time and thought has gone into the design and manufacturing of this knife and I am not disappointed I bought it. If you are looking for a practical no non-sense work/recreation knife, give this one a look and don't forget to put it in your pocket for a test drive.

Best Pocket Knife Purchase Yet

I just bought this sweet thing last week. I was initially looking for an assisted opening knife, but the sales associate at the knife desk showed me this, and I was nearly sold instantly. The Axis lock is extremely useful and accurate, and it allows for easy opening AND closing with a simple wrist flick. The plasticky handle scales feel cheap at first, but keep the weight down. The blade is pre-sharpened well enough to cut the hair off your arm, no joke. Well lubricated right out of the box, and includes a pouch. By far the highest quality pocket knife I own, and by far my favorite to use for EDC and basic work.

Quality Folding Knife

This model maintains the quality standards I associate with Benchmade knives. This pocket folding knife comes extremely sharp from the factory and includes a limited warranty including a lifetime of sharpening handled by Benchmade. This is my second Griptillian after having lost my first in the field I had to replace it with another of the same type because I was so enamored by the quality in my first one.

There is only one knife

What can I say? Benchmade, Axis lock, D2 steel. These three options are the only deciding factor for me when I buy folding knives. Well, OD green with a black blade is a plus too. LOL
