Bennett Marine Traditional Hydraulic Trim Tab Kit 12" x 12" Fits boats: 19' - 24' (limited transom space) -

Get the most from your boat, no matter what the load, speed or sea conditions, with Bennett trim tabs.

Hydraulic trim tabs are known for power, precision and durability. Bennett Standard Trim Tabs fit boats from 15'-38' (larger sets available). Using the helm control, you can adjust the trim tabs individually or together to create the perfect cruising attitude. Increase speed, fuel economy, smooth a rough ride and get on plane faster. Precise adjustments to boat attitude are easy. Kits include:

When ordering, remember ''the wider the better.'' Measure the longest plane span possible between the outside edge of the transom and the centerline, and subtract 3" - 4'' for clearance on the outer edge and 8" - 12'' of clearance from centerline (to account for outboard or sterndrive). A good rule of thumb is: at least 1'' of width per boat foot.

bennet trim tabs deliver on claims

The product delivered on its performance claims and the installation was pretty straight foward and diy friendly. The only draw backs are that some of the hardware supplied is of minimum quality. Some examples would be that the nipples supplied were almost too short to make it through my transom and the hydraulic pump mounting bracket is cheap plastic and broke on the first time out on the water. I wiil have to come up with another way to mount the pump. All in all it was a good deal for me. At the end of the day when you push the buttons that read bow down, the bow goes down and your on plane before you know it.

plastic everywhere

I have installed these tabs on 2 previous boats. They have performed very well. However. the plastic mount included in the latest kit doesn.t seem up to the rigors of off shore use.
If fabricating an INCLUDED part before installation, is acceptable to you, then hopefully the rest of the system still works as well as previous models.

How cheap can you get.

I have owned Bennett trim tabs on 2 other boats. Love their performance. The new kit I bought, however, looks cheaply made. The mounting bracket for the, not lightweight, pump is made of plastic. I give it to the bell buoy before it drops into the bilge, disgorging fluid everywhere.

Would I buy this kit again? Yes, with reserv ations, and knowing that I would have to fabricate a part that is suppose to be included in the kit.

Time will tell if the rest of the kit lives up to it's past performance reputation.
