Berkley Gulp 6 Sandworm -
All the advantages of soft plastics and live bait wrapped up in one revolutionary new product. After nearly 20 years of extensive research using expert chemical engineers, fish behavior specialists, bio experts and top professional anglers, Berkley introduces its new line of Gulp! Saltwater Baits. This bait looks, moves, tastes and smells like the real thing only better. This sand worm imitation has all the qualities to convince fish that it's food. Molded using a 100% all-natural compound, these baits release 400 times more scent than standard scented plastic baits. Fish can detect scent from Gulp! baits from distances that even live bait can't match. And since they look and move like the real thing, fish simply can't resist them. The 100% biodegradable plastic-free construction means they are completely environmentally safe. Highly durable to last through multiple fish. Per 10.

Sandworms Work Great

I use these for catching Surf Perch and Flounder. I cut them up into small pieces. They work great. They stay on the hook well and I can reuse them. They really seem to attract the fish. But they also attract the crows - I left a bag on the ground near me and a crow flew over and came down and took the whole bag and flew off with it! So make sure that you keep the bag out of reach of the crows and other birds looking for a free meal!

Great for small sea bream

I cut these worms to small pieces to catch a whole variety of small inshore sea-species including sea-breams, whiting, wrasse etc. Small jig-head (#10 hook, 2-3 g) + 1" piece of the worm. Works like a charm.

Like a charm

Truly realistic. Would like a longer version for visibility purposes for stripers. Works well, love that I don't have to deal with the live ones.

Stripers on the Hudson

6-4-2011-Although I tried the Berkley® Gulp!® 6" Sandworm while fishing the Hudson for stripers, I didn't catch anything with them. To be fair, not much was happening with real sandworms that day either. Compairing a real sandworm with the Berkley, I found them to look similar but the Berkley length is to small. Fishermen would benefit from using them if only Berkley would make the Sandworm in 10" lengths. I plan to try the 6" for Fluke later this season.
