Berkley Gulp Sand Crab Flea -
All the advantages of soft plastics and live bait wrapped up in one revolutionary new product. After nearly 20 years of extensive research using expert chemical engineers, fish behavior specialists, bio experts and top professional anglers, Berkley introduces its new line of Gulp! Saltwater Baits. Molded using a 100% all-natural compound, these baits release 400 times more scent than standard scented plastic baits. Fish can detect scent from Gulp! baits from distances that even live bait can't match. And since they look and move like the real thing, fish simply can't resist them. 100% biodegradable plastic-free construction means they are completely environmentally safe. Highly durable to last through multiple strikes. Not only do these baits look, feel and smell like live sand crabs and fleas, they also have match-the-hatch coloring to make them more convincing. They're more durable and longer-lasting than live bait, plus have rapid scent dispersion to attract fish from greater distances. Per 6.

Berkley Gulp Sand Crab Flea Reviews:

The Doctor

We can't get these Down Under, they caught my eye as a realistic imitation of a parasite (We call it a doctor) we find in fishes mouths around Sydney and beyond. I fish bream comps around here a bit and I always look for an advantage over my competitors. This lure helped me to a recent win with my mate in a recent team comp at Nelson Bay. The technique was to cast the lure very close to oyster racks and let it sink naturally. If there was no strike a slow draw and drop retrieve was employed. The only minus was how deep the fish took the lure - you have to be a doctor to remove the hook! Brendo;)

Sand Flea Crab

I used this bait fishing for surf perch on the central Oregon Coast. There were no live mole crabs so I used these. I didn't catch more fish with these than with live bait but they stay on the hook much better and can be used over and over again. They also hook and hold fish better than live bait. The best part was, I didn't have the dungeness crabs bother these so much.

Gotta love that chum!

Plastics have come a long way since my grandfather's day. In my general experience, I catch just as many fish with them as opposed to live bait. Berkley Gulp is a great product to fish with. I have had great success using the Sand Crab Flea while surf-casting in the San Diego / Southern CA area.
