Berkley Gulp Swimming Mullet -
The swimming tail action of all sizes of the Mullet is irresistible to all saltwater species. The tail action of this bait combined with the Gulp! compound makes it a favorite of fish and fishermen. Molded using a 100% all-natural compound, these baits release 400 times more scent than standard scented plastic baits. Fish can detect scent from Gulp! baits from distances that even live bait can’t match. And since they look and move like the real thing, fish simply can’t resist them. The 100% biodegradable plastic-free construction means they are completely environmentally safe. They are highly durable and can stand up to multiple strikes.

Berkley Gulp Swimming Mullet Reviews:

These 4" swimming mullet work very well for puppy drum ( redfish ) and speckled trout here in the Chesapeake Bay. It seems like they prefer the white more than any other color. The only drawback is if you hit a school of Bluefish they mutilate them and render them useless after one bite. Other than that, this is a great bait that will produce under all conditions.

Best Inshore Bait

I've used the 4" Gulp Swimming Mullet nearly exclusively for redfish, sea trout, and flounder for nearly five years. Favorite colors are (in order): Chartreuse, Smoke, Red, Pumpkinseed, Hot Pink, and Watermelon. Black and Pearl are not as productive. Other Gulp styles do not have nearly as much action as the mullet's curly tail, which draws strikes when others don't. Out fishes plastics and other baits 10:1.

First cast

I bought these because of the great reviews. I fish predominantly in the surf. And the first cast I made with the red swimming mullet I caught a 14 inch barred surf perch. Which is really big. I think the California state record is 17 inches. Third cast resulted in another 14 inch BSP. I'm totally sold on these.
