Berkley Hot Line Cutter

This item works well for me on mono and braid as long as batteries are fresh. I keep spare batteries on hand for a faster cut. I like the fact I can form a small melted ball up close to my knots which I used to do with a lighter in order to prevent line slipping through my knots. The lighter method does not work well on the water due to wind but the Berkley hot line cutter works regardless of wind. I have bought these as gifts and they are well received.

Works great on braid, mono and especially Fireline.
The only thing it can't handle is the Sufix® 832.
That's not this cutter's fault though. The GORE fiber in the Sufix® 832 doesn't melt. You can light the entire line on fire with a lighter and that white performance fiber stays intact. So, unless you are planning to use the Sufix® 832, this is a great little cutter.

This little thing works pretty good as long as the batteries are fresh. It will cut wet braid but takes a little longer. I've used it on power pro , fluorocarbon, and mono. 4 stars cause it's a good product but not quite perfect.
