It's OK

The first one I got didn't work. Motor ran but nothing spun. I returned it and recieved another one that worked fine. I was a little let down after owning one for about 20 years that was bigger, used 2 C batteries, also made by Berkley. We'll see if this one can handle the test of time. Regardless, this one took the line off 4 reels, no problem.

Negative Reviews:

Not for extreme use

I puild rods and clean reels in my business. I have bought 3 of these in less than a year. They may be good for someone who uses them every now and then. I have had to take all of them apart and resader the wires or fix the on/off button. But I use mine just about every day and when you strip more than 2 or 3 7000 reels at a time the moters just won't hold up. They over heat and burn out. I wish that companies would go back to making quality products instead of cheap throw away and buy again products.

Does okay

This stripper does a good job but is not super powerful. I used it to remove line from 12 reels and it does fine until there's resistance on the line then it quits stripping. The one I owned previously was better at pulling line off in those instances. Also have to be careful that the line you're stripping is kept away from moving parts or it creates a big snarl. Even with these minor aggravations this tool is better than hand stripping or rigging something up in my drill.
