Betsey Johnson Skull Squad Hobo Review:

Reviews:

I'll start with my complaints: Both straps on this are an awkward length. The longest one is too short to use as a cross body strap - it's also not adjustable. And the shortest one is too short to really use on your shoulder. The longest one is also a little too long to be a shoulder strap. The shortest one is alright if you are just going to hold it with your hand. I don't use either, just clipped on another plain black leather adjustable strap for cross body use. Let the other two hang there, it adds more style to the bag and makes it look almost cooler with the hanging straps. The fringe doesn't bother me, there's only a little and it's only on the sides so it's not too much to get in the way. The studs are cute, not too flashy, and not too tough looking. I was afraid they'd look cheap but they look nice in person. I've gotten compliments on the bag at least twice in the first week of having it. I was originally looking for a messenger style/cross body bag because I need to have my hands free when I'm out. So I was initially disappointed with the straps but I got over that. The bag zips up fully, so nothing can fall out. The size of the bag might appear kind of large in the picture, but it's on the flat/thin side, so it's not bulky or too big. It's actually a nice size. The top zipper is a little stiff and needs to be adjusted when you first get it. Like the base of the zipper is wedged inside the bag at first. Hard to explain, but once you straighten it out, it's fine and it wont get jammed. I saw someone else complaining about that, they probably didn't realize the zipper was still in a "shipping position" so it wasn't in the correct position for use. Have had no problems with the bag so far. The straps may make it slightly uncomfortable to use, but you can change them as you like. The smallest one is also removable, wish they were both removable though. The bag is not technically a "hobo" style because it doesn't turn into a slouchy shape while on, it stays pretty square. I would call it more of a tote/messenger style, since it's squared off, not round trash bag shaped. Which I think is a positive thing, because I think hobo style bags look kinda gross and unflattering in general. I'd rate this bag an A- if you are looking for a studded bag that holds a lot and zips up.
