Big Agnes Q-Core SL Insulated Mummy Pad Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

The Q-Core SL is a light weight, warm, and comfortable. When looking for a new pad I compared this to the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite. This pad felt more comfortable, probably attributed to it being an inch thicker. I like to winter camp so warmth was a big factor in my decision and this hasn't disappointed. The pad claims to be a three season pad, but it performs well on snow and keeps me warm.
The downsides I have noticed are that it feels narrow. I'm 5'11, 185 lbs and my shoulders are a little wider than the pad is, so if you sleep on your back, your arms might get cold. I'm a side sleeper usually, and since the pad is thick enough I haven't had that issue. Also, if you've had a tough day the pad might be a bit of a pain to inflate since usually takes about 2-3 minutes of lung effort as it is not auto-inflating.

Update after using the pad for a while

This is the most comfortable "ultralight" pad
I have used. Not the lightest, but more comfortable than the lightest. It sort of cradles you so the pad doesn't get out from under you at night. I'm thinking it's worth the extra weight for most trips.

It does measure 20 inches wide deflated and about 18 usable inflated.

Nice pad, but be mindful of specs

As noted in another review, it is narrower than advertised when inflated. Might be to spec when not inflated... I haven't checked. I'm thin and sleep on my side, so not a problem

Also, mine measured 2+ ounces heavier than spec, even without the stuff sack.

Other than that... very nice pad.

This thing is great.

I'm not an Ultra-Light person...more light weight, but this pad stands out. It is comfortable, light and packs small. I've only used it down to the mid-40's, but didn't experience any discomfort at all. I went with the mummy shape to save a bit on weight...and have no regrets.

Maybe one of the best pads I've ever used. Good thickness, not the smallest package ever but worth the added size. Wont leave home without it again.

Negative Reviews:

Not for wide shoulders

I was very excited about this pad when it came out, and was looking to use it as a significant upgrade to my backpacking sleep system. I was willing to trade some weight for the promised thickness and get a better night's sleep in the backcountry. Unfortunately, it's not wide enough. Mine measured just under 17 inches when inflated, not the spec'd 20. Not good for a guy with wide shoulders. It weighed in slightly over advertised by an ounce or so, I don't really remember as I ended up returning.

That being said, it was comfortable and easy enough to inflate.

Not as wide as advertised

I used a Big Agnes insulated Q core and loved it but it was on the heavy side for long distance backpacking. When Big Agnes put the Q Core SL on the market I immediately ordered it. There's one huge problem with it though. It's advertised to be 20 inches wide....but it's only 17 inches wide. When I lay on it my arms fall right off the sides of the pad! Unless your really thin through the shoulders....don't buy this pad.
