The Big Agnes Tensleep Station 6 is a 3-season deluxe car camping/base camp tent that sleeps 6. With an extra-large versatile front vestibule and a smaller back one, it's a perfect place to call home.

The Tensleep Station represents a happy combination of Southern charm and Rocky Mountain high life. Its spacious front vestibule was imagined by Mississippi-born designer Lesley Chambers as a "screened-in porch." This just might be the best place to sip your whiskey, read a book or hang out with the kids while the rest of your crew naps in the back. Available in four- and six-person versions with enough space to play a mean game of Twister, the Tensleep Station is as luxurious as it is practical.

The new Tensleep Station Tent from Big Agnes makes a great home base for your expedition, or your home away from home while on the road and in the wilderness with your family or friends.

Big Agnes Tensleep Station Tent Reviews:

Glad I Purchased This Tent

Our family recently downsized from tent trailer camping to car camping. We needed a tent to sleep four comfortably, had lots of headroom in which to stand, but is built to take what Mother Nature could throw at it (given that this is a big tent, there are limitations that can't be avoided), and I'm confident this can deal with the wind we get around some the lakes here in SW Idaho (flapping fabric at night can be a sleep killer).

Since this is the tent's first year on the market, I was reluctant to make the purchase because there weren't any reviews on But, we've camped enough with another family to know that there had to be something better (when it comes to dealing with wind and rain) than the Kingdom. This tent is it. I like to call it the transformer of big tents.

The rainfly provides coverage all around and also rolls out of the way to provide a ton of different configurations to suit your ventilation/shade needs.

The front is a garage of sorts that can transform into a screened area, or a sun shade (you'll need two poles or trees to achieve this). The storage area in the rear is small, but good for a couple of duffle bags of gear.

Pockets are everywhere. An attic is sold separately and I may get it, but for now, I'm content with the loops in the ceiling to hang a headlamp or two.

In addition to the floor-level staking areas, there are tie-down points around the perimeter of the tent (at about eye level) that allow you to anchor the tent against the elements. And the adjustable fly clips allow you to crank this baby down to get the fabric taught against wind and rain.

I highly recommend the footprint, which is sold separately. The tent folds up into a cool briefcase-like bag that nicely stows the poles, stakes, tent and rainfly in their respective pockets. Setup and teardown is easy. Very satisfied.

Versatile vestibule - worth the price!

In previous life (i.e. before kids) was avid backpacker/mountain climber. Just took family of five (kids are 4, 3, and 1) on weekend car camping trip. Realized before trip that I only had minimalist backpacking gear. Picked up this tent after researching blogs/youtube/forums for almost a month. Tent worked out great. Tons of room (almost too much), set it up myself in a few minutes (practiced once in backyard). Room to stand up and walk around inside (helpful when it poured on Saturday evening throughout the night). Huge front vestibule was able to store our entire campsite amenities during the storm. Didn't get much wind but after 10+ hours of heavy rain complete with water flows all around us we stayed bone dry. Some normal condensation on sidewalls but with all the room was able to stay away. Storage bag another strong plus. Stuffed the tent away wet easily, then dried off and put away nice after we got home.

Perfect for car camping!

Bought this tent at the REI anniversary sale. Took it out this past weekend, to camp down on the coast. The tent was easy to set up. It took two of us about 10 minutes to get it fully set up. We did purchase the footprint as well, and I'd recommend it. The poles are very heavy duty, and the tent stakes that came with the tent were more than adequate. It was quite windy at our campsite, and the tent didn't budge all weekend. The tent vented well even with the fly on. I did like the way you can configure the vestibule in several different ways. My boyfriend and I are both taller people, I'm 5'9" and he's 6'2", so we both appreciated that we could stand upright in the tent. Thrilled with it, can't wait to use it again! We didn't have to deal with any rain, so I can't speak to the waterproof-ness of the fly.

Great base camp tent

We used this tent for the first time this week on San Juan Island. We purchased it to replace our 4 person, which was getting too cramped as the kids have gotten older. Plenty of room for the four of us and our dog. It was nice to be able to stand up inside. Great storage pockets

The only drawback was that we needed the fly on for any privacy because the windows and doors did not have the ability to zip close the opening from the inside. This was true for all the tents in this category, unfortunately. This tent, however, had the ability to roll up the fly to "open" the windows.

Also, we were concerned that bugs would be attracted to the color, but that didn't seem to be the case. There were plenty of hornets around too.

Great for families

Bought this for a family vacation - wife had never been tenting before and was reluctant. We were all very pleased by the tent. It is easy to set up and is comfortable inside. The mesh walls inside allowed the four of us to breathe comfortably. Plenty of pockets. My son is 6' 1" and he could stand in the center. We set up sleeping bags around the perimeter and had the center free for evening games. The vestibule is as large as my 2-person backpacking tent, and allowed for shoes and extra gear. We endured two very heavy downpours with no leaks. Great tent.
