A great pad for anyone

I've only used this pad a couple of times so far and it performs wonderfully. I do winter camping but got this pad too late to vouch for its cold weather capability. I did use it a time or two while temps dropped close to freezing and it was toasty. After using a self-inflating thermarest for so many years having to blow us this pad seems like a huge pain. However, it inflates without a problem in under two minutes of consistant filling. It's also not incredibly easy to deflate enough to put back into the stuff sack. That said, I forgo the sack and stick it folded into my pack where it is much more compact and lighter than my thermarest.
I find that generally I sleep better on this than my thermarest though I'm still getting used to it. It certainly insulates and cushions better while sleeping on my side or belly.
Overall, I'd say this is my new sleeping pad of choice for all seasons.

Great sleeping pad

I used the sleeping pad for backpacking. I was very impressed by how small it packed. When we got to our campsite I realized we forgot our Big Agnes double sleepting bag. All we had was the new Big Agnes pads and one of our old single bags that we mistakenly packed instead of our Big Agnes bag. We used the pads and put the old sleeping bag on top like a blanket. Thirty years ago we could both fit in one sleeping bag but those days are gone! Thank goodness we had the insulated pads because it was pretty cold but it worked out okay. Next time we'll be in the lap of luxury with the great pads and our big Agnes bag.

The Only Sleep Mat I Actually Sleep ON

First off I would like to say that I am not a Robot. I do not power down on my back. I sleep on my side or at least tried to until I got this. Try that on a one inch thick therma rest. Talk about numb shoulders in five min flat. Yeah it does not self inflate and it takes a few min but your camping you have time for it. Packs small to. Cant comment on weather or not it will puncture but like the therma rest it comes with a patch kit. Sweet Pad

Super Comfort in a small package

Just used this on a two week hike of the AT... I combined it with a therm-a-rest blanket and was so happy.

The pad was easy to inflate and fold and store... I did not feel a thing from the ground. It just worked... It was small folded, but I am used to having the space in my pack from tying my pad to the outside of the pack... this is an in-pack size and shape... so make sure you have the space before considering.

I'm a convert

Bought this to replace an older Therm-a-rest pad for desert camping. Very comfy. Much more comfy than older pad. When curled up on my side i don't get that sharp pressure point on my hip like i did with my old pad. You do have to inflate but takes me just 16 breaths so not really a big deal. Can't say how would perform in cold temps but love it for desert trips.

Great sleeping pad

Took it to Philmont scout ranch on a 12 day trek. Worked out great. Comfortable, light, warm, and compact. When we reached camp I just walked around inflating it for 5 minutes. Mornings I opened the air nozzle and laid on it until it deflated. Works great in cold conditions too.

this thing rocks.

this is so super comfy and way easier to pack then a traditional thermarest. i love how small it is, the warmth factor, and all the comfort! i already went backpacking with it and it was awesome!

A good night's sleep

This air mattress is the most comfortable camp mattress I have slept on in years. Only time will tell its durability, but I am very pleased with the comfort, weight, and size.

Lightweight and super comfortable!

Went camping & was able to pack light and was very comfortable all night. Held air and didn't feel any rocks, etc underneath... much better than self inflating foam pads!

I'd recommend it

Negative Reviews:

Disappointed!

Bought this at EMS for my husband Xmas 07 and he used it on a few trips. All was well until the third or fourth trip and was woke up in the middle of the night lying on the ground (pad flat) - can't seem to find where leak is. Thought it would last longer than that! We have 15-20 year old thermo-rest pads that are still going strong. Extra inches of padding was great while it lasted!

Neutral Reviews:

Comfortable but small

Got this because it is lighter than my self inflating pad for backpacking and it does keep me warm and off the ground, what I expect, but I traded weight for "wiggle room". It's considerably more work to inflate than my other pad, but yet another weight tradeoff. I did tend to slide around on my last trip but I could not find a very flat spot to set up camp. Overall, I will continue to use it and take the good with the bad, but I know I can rely on my self inflator for car camping trips.
