Big Agnes Buffalo Park 40 Sleeping Bag -
The Big Agnes Buffalo Park is an oversized rectangular bag designed for big guys or those that just want more space. It offers warmth to 40 degrees and protection from moisture with Thermolite® Quallofil synthetic insulation. Thermolite® Quallofil has short staple fibers with a patented seven - hole construction that traps air in the fibers to create it's insulating value. The Buffalo Park includes Big Agnes' integrated pad sleeve system which is different than the traditional sleeping bag on top of a sleeping pad. Instead, they unite the two. With Big Agnes, the pad slides into an integrated sleeve on the bottom of the bag, and the top two-thirds of the bag is insulated in the traditional style. When insulation material is compressed under your body, it loses most of its ability to insulate. They eliminate the unnecessary bottom insulation and replace it with a sleeve to accommodate the pad which provides the insulation. It requires a 25 in. wide by 78 in long rectangular pad (sold separately).
Features:

Collar:

  • No-draft collar seals around neck to keep cold air from sneaking in

Fabric:

  • Nylon Rip-stop pad sleeve with WR surface treatment to repel water
  • Cotton/ Polyester lining
  • Thermolite Quallofil synthetic insulation for a feather-like feel; 7-hole construction reduces weight and enhances air content for greater warmth
  • The tough, outer nylon ripstop shell features a water-repellent treatment to keep the dew out
  • Interior fabric loops for sleeping bag liners (to add extra warmth and/or keep bag clean)
  • Soft, breathable cotton/polyester lining with stain-resistant finish; built-in pillow pocket holds a fleece or camp pillow
  • Nylon ripstop shell fabric with water-resistant surface treatment to shed light moisture
  • Interior fabric loops allow you to add a sleeping bag liner on colder spring or fall nights
  • Built-in pillow pocket holds a fleece or pillow for an enhanced night of rest
  • Single layer Thermolite® Quallofil synthetic insulation. Thermolite® Quallofil has short staple fibers with a patented seven - hole construction that traps air in the fibers to create it's insulating value.
  • Nylon stuff sack

Padding:

  • No-draft wedge insulates the connection between the bag and pad
  • Full-pad sleeve holds any 25-inch-wide sleeping pad and prevents you from rolling off your pad while sleeping
  • Every Big Agnes bag requires a sleeping pad for insulation on the bottom—a pad slides into an integrated sleeve on the bottom of the bag; the top two-thirds of the bag is insulated in the traditional style
  • Big Agnes bags don't have ground insulation and are meant to be used with a sleeping pad (not included) to be completely insulated
  • Requires a 25 in. wide by 78 in long rectangular pad (sold separately)

Insulation:

  • No-draft zipper tube insulates along the length of the zipper
  • Lightweight, synthetic insulation keeps you cozy as the temps dip down

Zippers:

  • A 70-inch YKK #8 zipper down the left or right side of the bag lets you zip it together with a compatible Big Agnes bag (sold separately) for a warm night with a camp companion
  • LEFT OR RIGHT ZIPPER? When you are in the bag, on your back, the right zip will be on your right side, left zip on your left sid

Manufactured:

  • Import.

Features:

  • Exterior loops for hang drying or storage
  • Rectangular shape offers more room in the foot box and shoulders—25 in. width offers extra girth for larger sleepers

Big Agnes Buffalo Park 40 Sleeping Bag Reviews:

Reviews:

Just got this bag. It is a must to have a sleeping pad with this since there is zero fill on the back side. Luckily you have a sleeve for your pad to go into which keeps it in place. otherwise it is as thin as a bed sheet . I have the long version but if you are taller than 5' 9/10 it s not long enough. pillow pocket is nice addition
it is a good light weight summer bag

This is not just a 3 - season bag!

My wife and I both have one, we use it as an over the winter bag to extend the range of our Big Agnes Whiskey Park bag. We've been out in temps as low as -5 degrees. Not bad for bags rated no where near that. I've used mine in early spring when temps were around 49 degrees, I stayed absolutely comfortable. This is good for old people with not so young circulation!

Uses for this bag are too conservative.

We bought the bag for 3-season use. First time out (5 degrees out) We took this bag for added warmth. We put this bag over our Whiskey Park bags (0 Deg.) and slept excellent and warm. Increases warmth factor of your winter bag, this is an excellent bonus. We have not had the oppurtunity to use these bags in a 3-season environment yet (come on spring!)

Nice Bag for the Big Guy

Like the built in sleeve for the air mattress. But the big guys arms still hang off the side of the mattress.
