The Big Agnes System is different than the traditional sleeping bag on top of a sleeping pad. With Big Agnes, the pad slides into an integrated sleeve on the bottom of the bag, and the top two-thirds of the bag is insulated in the traditional style. We eliminate the unnecessary bottom insulation and replace it with a sleeve to accommodate the pad which provides the insulation. This design provides a secure foundation and keeps you on the pad all night.
*Every Big Agnes bag requires a sleeping pad to provide insulation on the bottom:This bag was designed for any rectangular 20" sleeping pad.

The unique baffling is designed to keep more the high-loft insulation on top of your body where it won't get compressed and rendered useless. You won't be sacrificing your insulation from the hard cold ground as the renowned Big Agnes System incorporates a pad sleeve on the bottom so you always stay atop your insulating sleeping pad.

Not too warm and not too cold. At 30 degrees, the Big Agnes Gun Greek Sleeping Bag hits the sweat spot for temperature. The Gunn Creek uses 20 oz of Climashield HL insulation and only weighs a tad over 3 lbs. Like all Big Agnes Sleeping Bags, the Gunn Creek requires a pad. We recommend the Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad but any pad will do if it's the correct size. For the Regular get a 20x72 pad and for the long you''ll need a 20x78 in pad.

Great bag - alone or zipped up with another just like it. The Big Ag 3 season bad is a great compliment to the bag (you need a pad b/c there is no insulation on the bottom of the bag), so you might as well get the pad that rolls up with the bag in a single stuff sack that's right!! No pad rolled up on the outside of your pack!!

Big Agnes Gunn Creek: good sleeping bags

We took the family camping this weekend. 3 of the kids (teen girls) used this bag. Two of them (a low body fat gymnast and similarly slim basketball player) thought it wasn't warm enough (it was close to that 30-degree mark for the overnight low) but they were toasty once they zipped their bags together. The third (my competitive swimmer who packs a little more padding on her body) thought it was great.

I love this bag, very lightweight and very warm, used along with the Big Agnes Air Core Sleeping Pad, makes a great lightweight, convenient system.

Big Agnes Gunn Creek Bag

We took the bag on a motorcycle trip and the bag was small enough to strap on the seat. Regular mummy bags are too confining for me. This was a good compromise in order to keep the bag small enough to carry on the motorcycle. I felt there was plenty of room. It was a comfortable bag.
