Bang for your buck!

This is a great stand. I just put it together last night.
It is a good quality material and feels like it will hold up. It is not one of the stands that you can tell from the beginning that it is only going to last you a year if that.
The seat is good, the back rest is good. The shooting rail seems perfect. I am going to buy some wing nuts for the shooting rail so I can tighten it more. I did not give this 5 stars because of two reasons. The first one is the instructions on putting it together are terrible. You are given a booklet, and the whole book except for 3 pages are warning and what not to do's. There is one page of 9 steps to put it together and 3 terrible pictures to go along with the the 9 steps.
I was also shorted bolts. This would normally not be a problem but because it took me so long with the bad instructions I made it to the hardware store 4 min before they closed to get the 3 missing bolts. Make sure you count that all of your materials are there.

Sky Box

The Joints where the ladder sections mate are sloppy, which can cause noise as you climb or move. The geometry is a little off - with the seat level, the ladder is almost straight up and down. This allows the ladder to support more weight; but makes it difficult to climb. When seated, the size is very good and it is comfortable. It could use a flip down foot rest. The double rail ladder adds a good deal of safety. Looking forward to spending a lot of long days in this stand.

Don't Understand the Overall Good Rating

I am so disappointed in this stand - that is why I don't understand all the good reviews. It is the hardest ladder stand to put up in a tree that I have ever owned - and I have owned at least a dozen(including a very heavy Big Game Luxury Box). We put it up and it is so shaky from side to side - even with one of the ladder sections not in use. When I took it out of the box, one of the thin metal supports was all bent up. I was really looking forward to using this stand next weekend for deer season - now I am hoping I can overcome the excitement of buck fever, so the whole stand doesn't start shaking and scare the deer off. I would definitely buy a different stand then this one if I could do it all over again - big game makes some good ones, but this is not one of them.

Don't waste your money

I purchased the 20 ft. Sky Box deluxe ladder stand as I could not get a hang on stand into a tree where I wanted to hunt, so opted for a ladder stand. Frankly there is little deluxe with this stand. It requires a two person setup once you have the stand erected. The assembly instruction are terrible, the fit and finish is terrible having to bend certain parts to get them to fit. After the stand is up, the stability bar is a pain to get tight against the tree, and then two other straps have too be pulled around the tree and cinched to the ladder of the stand...would be better if there was a pulley system. Then comes the tricky part, inch your way up the ladder to attache the ratchet strap around the tree...not very safe doing this alone. The stand is wobbly even after all straps are secure tightly. I will be selling this after the season ends
