Black Diamond Wired Hexentric Nut-01-Red - Black Diamond Rock Climbing Wired Hexentric Nut - The Wired Hexentric Nut by Black Diamond is a lightweight, versatile and inexpensive form of protection for traditional rock climbing. Classic, simple, lightweight, functional pro, they shine in rapidly widening cracks where cams might walk out. With a subtly asymmetrical cross-section, flat sides and slight end-wise taper, they offer three different widths when turned on their axes and another when placed end-wise. Easy to rack and place in bottlenecks or any other wide range of placements in all conditions of climbing, these hexes are made of 6061 T-6 aluminum and come equipped with durable, galvanized steel swaged cables. These hexes are solid and well made, which is what you'd expect from Black Diamond. I've taken falls on jut about every size and they have help up. They are easy to place and remove. I know it's just a mental thing but I prefer hexes to stoppers whenever I can.
