Black Diamond Apparel Dawn Patrol Approach Pant Reviews:

Great Style, Great Quality but some issu

I am 6'1 tall w 31-32 inseam and had to buy a size SAMLL !!! This was a first! I found the M-L cut way too big at the waist (like WAY TOO BIG) So I went w small, luckily the legs were cut long enough to fit but I am confused at how these pants are sized...
Snaps felt delicate at first impression and they did in fact pull-through the fabric after 5 uses (just wearing them in cold weather to work, no athletics even) so they had to be returned asap..
BUT... I like them so much will orb get another pair, RockCreek was excellent w response to problem as was BD when contacted Hopefully next year these moderate issues will be resolved.
Otherwise pants worked very well, fit was slim (for S on a 6'1 person) and they blocked wind, rain, snow very well, but were still comfortable enough to wear indoors (at work) and basically I would be happy to wear these pants ALL WINTER!!! If they would hold up.
Also Im not crazy about internal belt (it slips a bit) and would have preferred a secondary option of using my own belt on the outside, wish they had tat option.
But overall, be careful w snaps...and they are excellent pants.

Beautiful Pants with Some Issues

Overall a great pant but with a few issues that are noteworthy:
Loved the pants until 2 weeks in the snaps pulled through the fabric and had to be returned, the snaps are very very small and will pull through the fabric just by opening them a few times, I bought a replacement pair and had a hook/loop installed to use instead of the snaps, Also the built-in belt fabric is very silky and tends to slip so it doesn't really hold them tight very well if you need that. And since theres no additional option for external belt it might be a problem.
FYI I am 6'1 tall, 32 inseam and 170 lbs (slim) and had to go with a size SMALL!! The Mediums and Large were just way way too big at the waist, not sure who sized the patterns but the are like 2 sizes to big at each size.
But if they fit and snaps don't give way, they are quite nice to wear, comfortable, warm, rain resistant, humidity resistant, grey looks elegant enough to wear around town and even to work, you might wear them everyday once you get used to them!
