Functional, comfortable pack
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I just returned from my first trip with this pack at Smith Rock, OR. My favorite feature was the accessibility to my gear offered by the two main zippers. I must say that I am baffled at BD's decision to go to the trouble of including a fleece lined and zippered iPod pouch with a earphone wire portal, instead of making this pack hydration compatible. Come on! I don't know about everyone else, but the first thing that I am thinking about when booting it up a hot, dusty approach hike is, "Where is my water?", not "Boy am I glad that my iPod is nice and cozy in its own fleece lined pocket, while my water bottle is totally inaccessible because it is buried underneath my climbing rope and trad rack." Or even worse, "Man, I'm super stoked that my nut tool just ripped my hydration bladder in half and now all my gear is soaked and I'm out of water." BD should stick to what they do best with their pack designs: Functional, simplistic, lightweight, and highly technical packs without the bells and whistles, such as iPod compatibility. Besides this obvious flaw, my only other concern is how the fabric will stand up to wear and tear on the rock. Only time will tell... | |

Nice bag, and roomy too | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Nice roomy rope bag. I can get rope, rack, harness, shoes, chalk and a few snacks in here no problem. I might have liked a small outer pocket to stash keys, ID etc. but it's not a big deal. Love the attached rope pad. On an entertaining note, on that show: Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern, he was actually carrying this bag thru Trinidad/Tobago. Can't imagine what he might have been carrying in there, other than pepto bismol and immodium. | |

this is a very specific bag

| I really like this bag. I bought it because my work has me caring various equipment around that i need to load an unload quickly. Also, I got it for sport climbing. In both instances it works quite well. Pros: tough easy load nice attachment points larger than i thought Cons: one compartment | |

Good pack - too small for full trad rack
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Great for sport climbing rack, but not big enough for a full trad rack, shoes, harness, extra clothes, food, water. I can't imagine packing all of that plus a rope. Might even be tight with sport rack and rope and a day's worth of gear. | |
