What an improvement! | |

| I use trekking poles primarily for snowshoeing. After repeatedly running into problems with other manufacturers' lock mechanisms freezing up in cold temperatures, I decided to try Black Diamonds. The flick lock mechanism makes all the difference in the world. Not only is it easier to adjust, it seems much less prone to failing in cold temps. (The fact that these poles are carbon fiber rather than metal may play a role as well.) I haven't really put the durability of the poles to the test yet, but they seem more than sturdy enough. | |

| The easy to use FlickLocks are a dream. I haven't jammed or pinched a finger since owning these and not once has an extension collapsed or extended by accident. They stay tight, stay strong and are super-easy to adjust. | |

| These are wonderful knee-saver devices and after hiking with them your arms will feel empty and useless without them. Very nice to have '4 wheel drive' for your stability especially on steep, slippery, wet trails. | |

| These are very strong, light weight poles. Length is easily adjusted but how often is that actually needed? I did 2 climbs, Cayambe and Cotopaxi (using only 1 pole and an ice axe on the glaciers), and the wrist straps are destroyed. Seems sticks this expensive should be more durable all over. | |
