Good protection for your picks

Well, as with most my axes, I would always end up poking something with them. Rather it be my packs or myself, those sharp points always found a way to snag something. The BD pick/adze protectors are a great way to keep those sharp points covered during storage or transport. They're easy to use and do their intended job well. They look quite durable and I can see them lasting many years of use.

You have sharp ice tools? If you want to keep them sharp and also keep that sharp point from ripping holes in your pack and other gear get one of these covers. They're light and work well, also pretty darn cheap. You can pick up a pair for under $10, not bad and cheaper than patching a hole in your pack.

The one I use is just for the pick since I have hammers on the other side like most of you probably do. Bottom line, I usually tape my picks when I pack them for travel, but this deal is nice 24/7, saves the taping and good for use in the field as well.

On the fence? Just get them. I figured being careful was good enough, but recently ripped a big hole in my favorite (Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0) shell by pulling it out from under my pack. :(
Lesson learned: cover the picks!

Perfect for adze-less tools!

This is the first secure pick protector I have seen that can be used on ice tools without the adze i.e. hammer or nothing at all. Should fit most ice tools without any trouble. Great product.

Thats what it really should be called. Use these guys on my Petzl Quarks. Keep them from going through the side of my pack in transit.

Kyle Gochenour at Backcountry.com on 12/12/2011

It does what it needs to do. It protects my backpack when stowing it away. It also protects my car from any extra damage when traveling.

Simple protection

Great for protecting your tools (and everything around them...) when traveling / throwing lots of gear in the back of your car.

no more holes

save your money and problems with punctured backpack or but etc. ... you know :-)
