The Women's Primrose AL Harness by Black Diamond is a four-season all-arounder. Designed with a women-specific longer rise and waist-to-legs ratio, the Primrose AL has traditional buckles on the waist and leg loops that allow fit to be dialed in depending on activity and clothing layers. The padded leg loops and bullhorn-shaped waistbelt take the ache out of those hanging belays, and when it's your turn to lead, the four pressure-molded gear loops carry the entire rack comfortably. The Primrose AL also comes with detachable/adjustable rear risers and a 15 kn-rated haul loop for the trail line.
The Black Diamond Primrose AL Harness offers female climbers the same comfort, ventilation and durability that Black Diamond harnesses are known for, at a price fit for dirtbags and new climbers alike. Black Diamond's designers outfitted the Primrose AL with a traditional waistbelt buckle and our trakFIT leg loop adjustment system, which uses a simple, secure slide adjuster to quickly and easily adjust the diameter of the leg loop and provide a wide range of fit. The waistbelt is built with our Dual Core Construction, which uses two slim bands of high-tensile webbing on the outer edges of the waistbelt and a venting OpenAir foam insert in the center to offer breathable, lightweight comfort without pressure points.

This was my first harness I purchased and I think it's a great one. If you're just getting into climbing or have been climbing for a while I think you'll be as pleased with it's performance as I was. My waist is around 32 in and the medium fits me just right. The adjustable leg loops are great and it's makes it easy not have to worry about double backing them. It's also a plus that it has a haul loop. I didn't realize how much I needed one until I bought a harness that didn't have one! The cushioning is nice and great for those all day climbs. It fits most body types very well and the only difference between these and the guy version is the womens primrose has smaller leg loops.
Picked this up as a gift. The harness fits her perfectly, but also has several adjustment points for fine-tuning if necessary. It's also very light and packs down nice and small in its mesh storage sack. All around great harness for women getting into the sport.
I've been climbing in this harness for about 3 months now. It's held up well and it's really comfortable. It makes for a good basic first harness. I'm 5'10" 140 lbs. and I got the medium.
Used this harness for mostly sport climbing and is a great harness for someone getting into the sport. The adjustable leg straps allows the user to really dial it to their specifications.
A woman I go climbing with just bought the Primrose a few weeks ago. During a fall on a dyno route one of the speed adjust buckles on the leg loop snapped in half. The metal bracket holding the straps together on the front of the thigh maintained, it was just the plastic tightener buckle that broke. Kind of a bummer that they'd use plastic buckles for the leg loops when the rest are metal.
She's going to talk to BD to see what can be done. I own the BD Momentum AL which is the male version of this harness and I personally have never had problems with the leg buckles.
This was my first harness, I bought it for indoor climbing. At first I loved it. It came at a great price and does what it's supposed to. However, once I started climbing outdoors on hot summer days (which involves drinking more water) I hated removing the double backed hip belt. If you have a small bladder like me, I would recommend either buying a "Go Girl" or sticking with a speed adjust hip belt.
Ordered this for my sister for her birthday, she climbs indoors. Guess I didn't realize it was a double backed harness making it harder to put on than other harnesses so I had to return. Heard this kind is good for long trips/multi pitches where the tightness around the waist can come loose
