Black Diamond Pursuit Glove Review:

Grippy inside and out

This is the older version of the Pursuit, and is the better model in my opinion. A simple gauntlet glove made from a softshell fabric with a medium-thickness Powerstretch liner glove, these are great winter action gloves.

The shell fabric isn't waterproof, but breathes extremely well, which helps hands stay dry in the cold. The stretchy shell fabric is windproof, water-resistant, sheds snow, and gives a really close fit. The Pittards leather fingers and palm are incredibly grippy on ice tools, ski poles, etc. The result is you can grab stuff and hold on, you can do fiddly stuff without taking off the gloves.

Liners are a medium-weight Powerstretch, warm enough for even cold days climbing if you swap into mitts at the belays. Carry a second pair in an inside pocket, warming up for a liner swap at the belay. It's really easy with these gloves. You can start each pitch with warm, dry(ish) liners.

Sadly, BD chose to "improve" this design. The latest model has a Gore-Tex liner, non-removable insulation, and a shorter cut. Unfortunate because BD already have several gloves in that category. The old Pursuit was unique, a brilliant product that no one else makes. If the sizes left fit you give 'em a try. You won't necessary appreciate these if your climbs are running water or you're skiing the soggy wet stuff. Go out on a frigid day and these gloves will let you climb hard and climb fast, or ski with warm hands no matter how hard the grunt.
