Awesome Knee Pads!

These knee pads rock! I use them for snowboarding. I have bad knees and like the fact that they go above and below the knee. I have been useing rollerblade knee pads. They have velcro straps. The velcro sticks to your pants and anything else. The Black Diamond knee pads have an elastic strap on the top and a fix nylon srap on the bottom. They then tighten with a cam lock like buckle. You can wear these all day long and not even know you have them on.! Get a pair! You will love them!

I bought these on a hunch that they would work for climbing El Capitan. After seven days on the wall, I can say that I have no hesitation recommending these as big wall gear. I kept them on for the entire 7 days and have only one complaint. They rotated around a bit, but I have yet to use a knee pad that did not do this to some extent. Hence the high rating. My only improvement would be to sew these into a pair of pants and I would be buying them again tomorrow.

No more bruised on my knee caps

These knee pads were probably designed for telemark skiers in mind. However, I've been using them for ice climbing. There are times when you kick poorly to set your crampons into the ice and instead bang your knee into the ice; and these knee pads have protected my knee caps from those mindless mistakes. Also these knee pads protects your expensive Gore-Tex shell pants from abrasion. Usually, the knee portion of your pants where the second most worn out place. So, these knee pads protects your investments (your knee caps and your pants).

There is no excuse- if you are a telemarker, you need these! I've skied both the Voiles and these, and can honestly say that these are the best. They are low profile and not bulky under your pants, but they still get the job done. They have saved my knees from so many slams, I literally cannot ski without them. I never have issues with them popping open, nor moving around.
Don't hesitate- pick yourself up a pair, and save them kneecaps!

I just completed a 4 day practicle rifle course in Las Vegas- temperatures 100+. I was the only shooter that left the gear on between stations becuase the gear was not heavy and did not cause sweating around the knees. Several other pads fell apart and the shooters were forced to duct tape them in place. These are great, durable pads for hot weather protection. I highly recommend these pads and will purchase more for the other shooters in the family.

I've been using these knee pads for a year now and I have to say I love them! I don't really notice them when I am riding down the mountain and they fit right under my pants. No one even notices that I have them on. They have been threw many hard falls and these are still going strong. These will not hinder your riding at all. If your looking for a good pair of knee pads, you found them here!

I had two "total Knee replacements" this past winter, and I can't knee down; As I work outside most of the day. I bought these knee pads; they are fantastic; I ware them all day and they don't bother me at all even after working for 8-10 hours.
The knee pads that have elastic basically cut off the circulation to your legs after a few hours these don't. With the straps snug they stay put all daylong. P. H.

Get the BD knee pads

I have had these knee pads for several years, they are durable and comfortable. I telemark ski and I trust my knees to the pads after my buddy hit a hidden stump at alta. I posted a pic of what the stump did to the BD pad. The impact sent him head over heels, but there was no injury to his knee. Unlike other pads, these are very comfortable and stay in place.

I use these whenever I telemark and I forget I even have them on almost immediately. They never come off, are super comfy, and in case I hit my knee on my ski or the boiler plate ice of Mad River, I ski away just fine. Only complaint is that on super warm days, my knees can get a bit sweaty, but something pretty minor. Recommend them to ALL my friends!

Best option on the market

At the moment there is no better option on the market for the price. The telekneesis is lightweight and flexible making it very comfortable to wear. My only concern is the gap between the main and a lower plastic guard leaves the knee vulnerable when flexed. If you want more protection look to a knee and shin guard combination available for more money.

Good pretection but fragile

This one has good protection to the knees. But clips are easy to break. These are my second pairs.
It is easy to put them on and on constrain on knees. But my second pair was broken at the first use on the mountain.

Hard plastic glued on poly fabric, wondering how long that will stay. Comfy enough, but over-priced.
