The Black Diamond Verdict Skis. A powerful, race-inspired ripper, the award-winning Verdict bridges big mountain and in-bounds skiing by handling firm on-piste snow as easily as it rules powder and chunked-up crud.
Black Diamond Verdict Ski - Men's: Bringing a new level of edge hold and terrain-absorbing dampness to the Black Diamond line, the redesigned Verdict is our true all-mountain machine. A 102 mm waist and full camber help you lay down powerful, solid turns through variable snow, on groomers or in powder. The semi-rockered tip keeps things manageable with easy turn initiation and effortless crud busting.

Take on the toughest terrain this winter with the Black Diamond Verdict. This power-housing, crud busting, redesigned all-mountain machine will have you shredding lines and tearing it up on groomers. Designed for high speeds, rougher conditions and longer turns than the Warrant, the Verdict is a 102 mm waist full cambered go-anywhere ski. Overall, Black Diamond's best offering for an all mountain ripper.
Semi-Rocker tip and flare tail give the Verdict an easy turn initiation and the power to bust over anything from crud to powder mounds. 3D Metal Sandwich with Titanal, paulownia wood core and ABS tapered sidewalls translates to race-like construction without the added weight. Formula One Technology with three ribs and Torsion Box Construction gives the Verdict maximum torsional rigidity while added metal to this newer model makes for a smoother flex pattern.
Optimal use: 30% soft snow / 70% hard snow
Way different than the Verdict of old, the Black Diamond Verdict Ski rocks a hybrid fun-shape to keep it stable and provide easy turning, even at low speeds. Designed as a slay-anything plank that can handle everything from steep, icy chutes to epic tours, the Verdict boasts improved stability, dampening and durability for those days when you'd rather charge through the crud than steer around it.
Equipped with a rockered tip and tail and regular camber underfoot, the Verdict takes you to any terrain on the mountain and supplies a wickedly-fun ride through soft snow, groomers, techy terrain, and tight trees. Designed with Formula One 3D metal sandwich technology, the Verdict features heavyweight metal combined with lightweight construction for high-performance freeride results. Made with a Paulownia 3D CNC wood core, the Verdict has the strength and durability of poplar wood with the weight of balsa for lightweight performance. Its 8mm ABS sidewalls also provide durability and protection against mechanical damage or regular skier abuse. Oh, and this versatile, all-mountain ski features Power edges for superb freeride durability.
Dramatically different that the Black Diamond Verdicts of old, this all-new iteration gets a hybrid fun-shape inspired by the AMPerage to make it turn super easy, even at low speeds. When you’re ready to ramp it up, 3D Metal Sandwich construction gives it rail-solid edge hold and keeps it extremely damp when charging through manky snow.

So, even though I know this years version is pretty different than last years, I still think last years version has a few similarities that may be helpful.
Overall, this is a pretty burly ski. I'm coming from skiing on pretty playful and light skis, so take that with a grain of salt, but this ski has a lot of metal in it, it's on the damp/heavy side, and really does lay trenches through variable conditions pretty well, especially for it's width. I'm an east coaster, and I've been really pleased with how well this ski does on hardpack/ice.
I have noticed that the tails can get a tad hooked up if you're used to just effortless turning. You have to be in the drivers seat a tad more, especially in variable stuff.
Overall, a pretty fun, damp, fast ski that does great on east coast conditions.
I bought these skis for a one quiver setup, traveling. Put dynafit radical. I am comparing them to seven other skis I ride including amperage and convert. Thought it was gonna tour a 5 out of 10 but seemed more like a 8 out of 10. This ski can do it all I love it. Shorter tours, fast carving, charger, backwards, crud, sidecountry, bumps. Was also surprised because not too impressed with the amps (except in powder) and converts. Haven't really got a good test in powder but I feel it will handle as expected and I don't ski park.
loving this ski so far on the east coast; it's been a down snow year but have toured a bit and not as heavy as anticipated; performs pretty well on the hardpack/ice and what little crud i've been in so far; highly recommend; i'm 6'2, 170 and the 180 is working just fine
