I purchased this grill top for my Lodge to go along with the Griddle Station. It is very well built and looks like it will last a long time. The only drawback thus far appears to be the lack of a good drip pan. Grease from burgers and the like is going to end up on the burners in some areas.
These griddles no longer have the good cast iron burners. They changed to tube steel ones that aren't worth spit. The flame comes out of both sides and wraps around the tubing and straight up. This gives you severe hot spots directly above the burners. Not even heating across the bottom of the griddle. They cannot be retrofitted with the old "good" burners per Blackstone. The size is great, but you can't use it all. You end up cooking in narrow rows wasting half the griddle. It WAS a great product, but now you would be better off with the Camp Stove model IMO
Grill top option is a joke. a big joke. 45 minutes to cook anything because it sits too far from the burners. I suppose if you wanted to remove the baffles built into the grill top it would be closer to the heat but I did not purchase it to remodel. Took the grill top option back and modified my griddle so that way part of it is a griddle and part of it is a grill - now it works great.
I was very disappointed in this product. The grill top grease trap doesn't cover the entire unit. It allows grease to run everywhere. I returned this product. I love the Blackstone Griddle though. I have always been very pleased with Cabelas products. First time for everything !!!!
