decent quality, good price, one season

i use this rope at least once a week on ignibrite, a sharp volcanic rock formation. about four months ago it got some external damage to a few strands which really annoyed me. i tended to use that portion of the rope less often, but finally decided to sacrifice that portion cutting the rope. It was a good price, but i hope i won't have to buy a new rope each year. having said that my buddies purchased the same rope and besides the fact that gets really dirty hasn't had the same experience as me. i just purchased the same replacement rope due to its pricing, but if it gets some outer shell snags on it again, i'll try something else.

good value, happy with purchase

I'm very pleased with this purchase. It was a good price for the value i got. i feel very secure with it. it has the right amount of stretch, is light, and thing enough to run through DBC with ease. Most of my climbing is on ignimbrite which can be hellaciously sharp. i need to take special precautions at areas where there's a chance of rock rub especially side to side which can be like a scissor. i find that the rope gets dirty really fast even when using a rope mat religiously, but one wash a year is all i give it. i'm on my second eliminator now and might buy a 3rd when the time comes.

Bluewater has been ahead of the game for a long time, and you will not find a more durable, and smoother handling rope than the Eliminator. Also this is one of the softest catches on the market with a great fall rating. Bluewater sets the bar for quality control, and every inch of every rope they produce is HAND INSPECTED. And, best of all, Bluewater is the only FAMILY OWNED, AMERICAN MADE rope company on the market, so you can feel good about where your money is going. Not only is this the best rope in the world, it's made by good people here at home.

Great rope at a superb price!

The Blue Water Eliminator rope is a great rope at a superb price! Handles well, knots easily, great rope. Few retailers offer ropes at the LESS than [$] price and this is a great rope for any cost-conscious buyer or beginning climber/experienced climber seeking a rope that won't break the bank. My only regret is that this rope isn't offered in some brighter color(s) - such as purple, orange, neon green, etc. Otherwise - it's a GREAT buy and a great rope!I plan on buying a 2nd rope esp at this price!

Love BlueWater Ropes

Love Bluewater ropes. They outlast & over perform others. (Example:)A loved one tried to surprise me last year with a rope & they bought me the Petzyl Zephyr & after climbing on it a few times, with no big falls the inner sheath was thru the outer core of the rope. Petzyl did replace the rope but I have not felt safe since on the Petzyl ones. I have climbed on BlueWater ropes for 15+ years & they are great!!

Very impressed with this rope!

For sport climbing, I have long been loyal to another brand of rope, but the great service & price from Mountain Gear attracted me to the Eliminator. I have used Blue Water for decades, for doubles & static lines, but for sport routes I had not. The Eliminator has won me over...I am continually impressed by it's handling & durability. I am going to purchase another.

I love this rope because it even feels more durable than my other ropes. I use it primarily for sport and toprope and it has outperformed my sterling marathon and is cheaper too. Another great feature of this rope is that it is made in the USA! The green rope looks amazing.

This is a great all around rope. I have used Blue Water ropes for years and really trust them. This is my top roping rope. But have also used it for lead climbing with my 9.4 on big walls. Seems to be standing up very well and shows little signs of age.

Good rope

We got two of these ropes, one in each color, because it was such a great deal. I've had this exact rope before and I think it holds up almost, maybe not quite, as well as a sterling brand rope.

best rope for the buck

I bought the rope because of my experiences with blue water ropes. They seem to last longer than most, and are very good handling ropes.I love it,and my next rope will be the same or very similiar B.W. rope.

A bit too sturdy

I've been using this rope for a couple seasons. It's handling is too stiff for my tastes and is prone to tangles. It also seems my hands get more black using this rope than my old Mammut. This means it's eating through my hardware. Perhaps a dry coating would help with these short comings.
