Nice rope
I've had the Bluewater Eliminator for a couple of weeks now and have spent many hours climbing on it inside. The rope handles superbly - I think the dry treatment gives the rope a better feel than the standard rope. It clips nicely and runs through an ATC smoothly. I have yet to run it through a Gri-Gri but I would expect no issues there. The 10.2 mm diameter seems a nice compromise on weight and durability. It's much lighter than my big ol' fuzzy 60m Edelweiss without feeling like I'm climbing on a piece of floss. For now, I'm reserving my Eliminator as my crag rope and am going to keep using my "fat" Edelweiss for at the gym.
Great all around rope
I've owned this rope for about 3 years and have used it for TR at local crags, sport climbs, multi-pitch trad and ice, as well as in the gym. This rope has done it all. The dry treatment has diminished over time and the rope freezes up a little; however, generally it is very easy to handle. I am not sure what the previous reviewer was referring to, but the rope stretch does not seem excessive, and I've belayed 200 lbs people on it.
sick!
i generally like smaller ropes, but hate the trade off in durability. this one gets lots of mileage, handles beautifully, and for me seems a reasonable compromise between size/weight/diameter and durability/life expectancy. my only complaint is that some other ropes are smoother longer, and stiffer for easier clipping, while this one gets a little fuzzy and limp over time. highly recommended, though (especially if you can find it on sale, like i did!).
Great rope
Great rope, No problem with a grigri or cinch, I weigh over 200lbs and have climbed with some heavier than me and there's the right amount of stretch, after all if you take a lead fall some stretch is good or you load the gear and your body too much. Love blue water and I own several of their ropes.
Good rope for general use
To address an earlier comment about Heavy climbers, I weigh 205 lbs, have used this rope for a couple of years, and found no problem with stretching.
Flexible and DOES work fine in a Gri Gri which I use 80 % of the time.
I would buy it again.
10.2mm dry heaven!
Awesome rope. Thin yet strong. Long, but manageable even for indoor gym climbing. This will probably become my dedicated outdoor trad rope very soon. The rope is to thin to use with a Grigri (belay device), but I don't have one anyways. I would buy this rope again and again.
Great Rope
I love BlueWater Rope I have been using them for 10 years and they always last. I do replace them every two to three years depending on how much I climb. I have never had an issue with any of their ropes
Great Rope!
We received this rope and used it outside for the first time and it performed great at Vantage. Not too stiff, and very soft. Nice on the hands. Did not pick up and hold any debris on the cover either.
good rope
Bluewater ropes are great ropes, are made in the USA of high quality material. The only problem I have with this rope, which is fairly minor, is that the middle is not marked at all, not even with tape.
great rope
rope looks great and the made by date was from a few months ago. Rope runs smooth and holds up well. I am very pleased over all and the price was great.
