Just get It, It's worth the money.

I purchased this product for my West Marine HP 310.

(If you have an HP 310 or similar boat in Ohio, you might want to call your order into BOATPLATES, you'll see why when you read on).

Logged into the site, put in my registration, and 3 days later it showed up in my mailbox.

Because Ohio has a requirement of 6 inches between the numbers and the sticker, the plate was going to overlap a seam. (This plate was made to EXACT Ohio specifications). I called the company and expressed some concern about going over a seam with the plate. They IMMEDIATELY called me back and came up with a solution.

This is a Made in the USA solution with a business owner that genuinely cares about your satisfaction. Absolutely fantastic, professional looking product.

While you can use "marine" PVC glue for your plate (If it makes you sleep better at night to pay triple the price), but any PVC glue will work fine. Just follow the instructions and treat it like a patch.

Looks clean

Tried number boards and they kept coming off. These are permanently attached and look much cleaner.

Negative Reviews:

Good Product, but as advertised!

Supposedly the product was a quick glue-on application. Turns out, it is not and they get you GOOD on the glue!!!! The number kit itself is over priced, however, I thought for [$] I don't have to play games with a board flopping around. NO ONE TELLS must buy a tube of glue the size of a toothpaste tube that costs between $19.99 and $24.99 depending on whether you buy the West Marine or the generic brand. If someone had told me it would have cost me #64.00 plus to put my numbers on, I may have looked elsewhere for an alternative.

Ridiculous Procedure

The procedure for getting this product is ridiculus. 1st you pay here online, West Marine sends you, through the mail, a web redemption certificate/coupon. After waiting for up to a week for the coupon, then you proceed to a 2nd tier vendor's website where the coupon gets redeemed electronically. After the 2nd tier vendor receives your registration info it takes 3 to 5 days to manufacturer then another 3 to 5 days to ship. In this electronic era...what a convoluted mess. I think my inflatable's warranty will run out before I get the registration numbers.

Not UV Resistant

These looked good after installation and for the first year. After that, the UV radiation from the sun caused the numbers to fade to unreadable and they looked awful.

This product is very expensive, and should last a heck of a lot longer than one year.

I recommend getting vinyl lettering, which is much less expensive and more durable. Even if you need to replace the vinyl lettering every few years, you will be money ahead.

Not happy with this product

This has faded badly after 3 years. Also, I have had to re-glue it on a couple of times, and yes I did follow the instructions. I bought the plate that had glue already on the plate and this did not work at all. (on Hypalon). Not really happy with this product and would not buy it again.

The glue

Was told the product came with glue, but it did not. The glue sold by West Marine is not quite enough to finish the job. By the time you are done, you have spent too much. Paint and stensile is the way to go.

Edges curled within a year

Had to replace with fabric letters within a year. Product is over priced and not durable.
