Great for running and around town
I'm an every day runner and this has been one of the top five baby-related purchases. It puts my daughter to sleep every time I go for a run, gives me a chance to get some time in for running and gives my wife some sanity time where she can have some time to herself. I bought the BOB because of reputation and the fact it was on sale at REI. For running I find this stroller ideal because of the tracking available in the front wheel, the suspension system which keeps my daughter comfortable and the ability for the stroller to recline a good distance (which is great for smaller babies and for naps). I also like the add ons of the sun screen and weather shield (purchased separately). The only downfall of both these items is that they remove the ability to look in on your little one through the top window. The bearings in this stroller are high quality, it is near frictionless, you could push it with minimal effort and feel no resistance. Also, the Revolution seems like a better buy because the wheel can either be locked (for running or rough terrain) or swivel for every day walking around.
What keeps the BOB from getting 5 stars to me is: the price (this stoller should either be cheaper or made in the USA), the small cargo bin (not only tiny but it is hard to access once baby is in), how heavy/bulky the item is, and the uselessness of the snack tray (also purchased separately, it sits too far away for a little one to reach any snacks, maybe when she is bigger). I like the reclining feature, but I would redesign the reclining feature if I was the designer of this stroller such that the most upright position went higher. I'd also like a hand brake designed in (this would be a challenge with the swivel wheel) for better control while running.
I had tested three jogging strollers from friends before I bought this one, and this was the best of the three.
Great Stroller, mostly.
While I LOVE my BOB I feel like the quality of the stroller isn't what it used to be. We had a 2006 model with my 1st son, and that thing has been all over the country and used to the fullest extent. We passed it on to family when we were done with it, and they have now used it for all 3 of their boys. When I found out we were having another little one of our own a new BOB was my one splurge for this baby. We bought ours last May and 10 months later have had to exchange it twice because the stitching has come undone, in different places both times. I still think it's a great stroller that pushes easy, folds up easy and is very comfortable but it's just disappointing that it isn't constructed like they used to be. I do have to say that REI is amazing and exchanged it both times with no questions asked.
The greatest gift to running parents
This is the third jogging stroller I've tried out and this one is by far the best. Most importantly it is versitile, the front wheel swivels when my wife wants to walk but locks straight when I want to run. This has really helped us get our money's worth from this purchase. The stroller is heavy but no heavier then the other two I've tested by borrowing from friends and this one easily packs up much quicker. I find pushing this stroller to be very easy when running and enjoy that the front wheel tracks to make sure it is runs straight and true (one of the other strollers I tested I spent most of me effort just trying to keep it going straight). The only thing I wish this stroller had was a hand brake like jogging only strollers have. I live in a hilly area (and also sometimes like to jog fast) and it would be nice to stop it easier.
This is the best stroller on the market in my opinion. Obviously, it depends on what you plan on using it for. My wife and I live a very active lifestyle, so we're always on the go. We use this stroller almost every day, rain or shine. It handles well on hiking trails, smooth on the streets for walks & runs. Even does well trekking through hard sand at the beach. Easy to push, very maneuverable, unlike other strollers we tried out. I would definitely recommend this stroller to family/friends. It is expensive & bulky. But for us, it's perfect! Lot's of room for storage (i.e. diapers, wallet/purse, keys, drinks, etc.) Set-up & breakdown of this stroller is super quick/easy. We've already had plenty of compliments on the stroller from other parents and when we've tried out our friends strollers, I'm always happy with our decision on the Bob.
So far I have only used this stroller twice. Once with my 9-month-old niece and once with my 2-year-old nephew, they both loved the ride. We went on a 1.5-mile walk and both were content the entire way. My niece normally hates the stroller, car seat, etc but she was so cozy in the BOB that she took a nap then wanted to play in it later after the walk. My little one is on the way and should arrive in March I hope he/she will like it as much as they do. Well worth the investment.
LOVE IT! I didn't want to pay so much for a jogging stroller but glad I did cause I LOVE IT! Best investment I bought for my LO. It's like a Rolls Royce of jogging strollers. Smooth ride, easy to steer and my LO is a happy girl. Only downside is the bulkiness of it in my suv trunk. Takes a lot space but then again most jogging strollers do.
Glad I waited a year to buy this since it now comes with a child snack tray and parent console. :)
I have wanted The Bob Stroller for months now. I thought it would not fit in the trunk of my car but it does! The day we saw how small and compact it folds down we bought it on the spot! The only con I can think of is the small basket below the stroller, it doesn't hold much. Otherwise an excellent stroller if you want to splurge:)
I received the stroller/car seat combo as a gift and it was more than I could've hoped for in a stroller. For being big and bulky, it handles like a dream, I can easily navigate it with one hand. I have used other strollers and it felt like I was pushing a broken shopping cart, but the BOB is so smooth I wouldn't have anything else.
Wish we had bought this stroller first
We love Bob. This is our 3rd stroller and our grandchildren just turned 2. We wish we had bought Bob first. There are only a few minor adjustments we would make if we could. First make the handle bar adjustable. Then make Bob able to stand up for storage. Other than that it is wonderful.
SUV in the stroller world
We also got an attachment which with we can clip in our car seat on the stroller. Maneuvering the stroller is very smooth and feels very lightweight. When you are setting up/Stowing it away it feels a little heavy but that is to be expected with a stroller designed for running.
