Olson 25 Fore deck hatch replacement

My original Bomar foredeck hatch on my 1984 Olson 25 sailboat had become brittle and the tie down latches had broken. The new Bomar hatch fits perfectly in the opening. The new hatch mounting bolt holes are smaller and did not line up perfectly, so I needed to fill the old holes with epoxy and drill new holes. Also, needed to purchase smaller bolts and nuts. Used 3M 4000 UV Polyether adhesive sealant to bed the hatch which is compatible with the molded polycarbonate frame.
The new hatch seals well and the single adjustable arm holds hatch open in any position.
Also, came with the interior trim ring and screen insert.

Hatch looks great and works well.

The price is right!

The product was on back order when I ordered it, but it came within a few weeks. The price is cheaper than other sites, plus it came with extras (screen and trim ring).

unusual application for a porthole?

I was unable to locate an after market window for my camper door. It was easy to install and works perfect. It looks like it was made for the door.

Perfect for refresh closed cabins

It´s really low profile, nice external look, the trim ring is a decorative way inside the cabin.
Easy to install, only 8 holes (watch your gelcoat) and selleant.

simple fix

I replace the old cover with a new one same size same brand but drill holes didn't line up and had to redrill

look nothing like web pic

bought 7 of these in black . they are not low profile and the finish looks gloss on the web pic but they have a dull faded look. dont look good.installed them easily.will have to be careful not to strip the threads on the dogs which are plastic.the seal is on the wrong side of the hinges which are also plastic.filled the cavity with 3m otherwise will leak for sure

Not yet installed...

Cannot comment yet since I have not yet installed it or used it, but looks good for what I need and functions well out of the box. Would be nice to have an option of opening this hatch from the outside of the deck.
