A detail to note, there's a small slit on either side of the laces at the top. There's an elastic material that will stretch to give a more snug, secure fit. A leather flap hides this material to not show this more athletic detail. Nice feature. The laces that come with it are a little stiff and thicker than dress laces I'm used to. I'll change them out for something slimmer that doesn't stick up on their own, but that's just a personal preference. For a dress show with a wide fit, these are great. I usually take wide (2E) sneakers and running shoes. So to have a dress shoe fit great and not constricting in a wide is awesome. The leather upper feels a little stiff. It's not as flexible as my previous Ecco dress shoes, but I'm sure they just need to get broken in a little.

Really comfortable while being suitable for business. I travel by plane often and the little elastic slit perfectly accommodates the foot expansion that happens on longer flights.

Love these shoes. Classic look with a modern twist. Very comfortable shoe that runs true to size. Highly recommend.

These shoes look nice, but I found them much too tight beneath the laces, to the point that they cause some discomfort. I bought them in a normal width (which is what I usually wear) but even after breaking them in for a couple weeks they are still uncomfortably tight across the top of my foot.

I bought these to replace a similar pair of Bostonian captoed shoes but found these to be 1/2 size too big. Also, that piece of elastic by the lacing seems like a bad idea: in my experience, the only thing it did was help the shoe slide off your heel as you walk.
