Great Grill

Just started using this and I love it. I will say it has some broken grates and Cabela's replaced them the day I took them in. You have to like good service. Overall I am very happy with this grill. I have used it 3 or 4 time now and it works wonderfully. It is well built, cooks well and looks nice. I would recommend this to others.

Broil King Grill

It is a nice heavy duty grill. I gave it four stars because it was missing two of the four grates and couple other small parts. I called Broil King, gave them the part numbers I needed, and within a week I had the parts.

A good grill, not a great grill

I've been using the BroilKing 440 grill for over 6 months now (it replaced a grill that lasted 16 years) and here are the pros and cons. PRO:
· Even though the parent company is Canadian, the grill is Made in USA
· Gets very hot very fast
· Igniter system works well
· Good uniformity at grilling surface
· Cast iron grates put good grill marks on your food, if that's important to you
· Exterior stainless seems to be holding up OK (lower grade exterior "stainless" on some Chinese imports sometimes begins rusting quickly.) CON:
· Not quite as solid after assembly as I'd hoped, and some of the supplied sheet metal screws didn't hold; I had to replace them with my own stainless 8-32 cap screws.
· The "porcelain coated" grates RUST if you don't keep them oiled.
· There's already a fine patina of RUST on the interior Flav-R-Wave heat diffusers and the burners - the "stainless" is magnetic, suggesting a 400-series alloy, which isn't nearly as rust resistant as the more expensive 300-series ("18-8") alloys used in professional cookware.
· While most foods cook up well, those with more drippings (e.g., fresh bratwurst) will cause BIG flare-ups, which will char the outside of your food too much, regardless of temperature setting.
· As far as I can tell, the "LIFETIME WARRANTY" only applies to the cast aluminum end caps on the lid. BOTTOM LINE: A good grill, not a great one. Overall it's better than most of the grills you find sitting in front of the big-box home stores, but then again it costs more. Should last longer than the cheapies, but it probably won't last as long as the one it replaced.
