Al's Sports
The light, bouncy, and balanced ride of the Ghost has haunted the dreams of many competitors -- and it's about to get frighteningly good. Brooks has taken the transition from silky to ridiculously smooth by removing the midfoot shank and creating full ground contact from heel to toe. The underfoot gets even more love with a horseshoe Segmented Crash Pad that wraps the heel from medial to lateral sides and articulates the laydown. What does all that mean? Looking as good as it feels, you'll fall in love with this friendly ghost.
Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS)
For a light, bouncy, and balanced ride, the Brooks Ghost creates a ridiculously smooth transition with full contact from toe to heel without a midfoot shank. The lay down is customized with a horseshoe Caterpillar Crash Pad for ideal cushion and stabilization.

Positive Reviews:

I love the looks of this shoe. Having loved Ghost 3 I was looking forward to trying this "advanced" model in great colors. Sad to report I was very disappointed that this shoe is mostly laces, about 2.0" crossing the tongue in size 8.5. In comparison the Ghost 3 is only about 1 inch. I'm not a shoe engineer. But I can't imagine that lacing provides much stability. I tried 6 other pairs from Zappos (so grateful for the Easy Return policy). They, like the Ghost 6, are all laces. So the manufacturers all seem to be in cahoots on this. They must be shaving production costs by substituting laces for fabric. I ended up with Brooks GTS 13. The lacing area is about 1.5" More than the 1" I am accustomed to with Ghost 3. But the best I could find at Zappos.

I have the Brooks Ghost 4, Ghost 5, and now Ghost 6. In comparing the Ghost 5 and 6, the 6 seems more cushy yet supportive. The colors on the 6 are better and the laces are flat style and opposed to the round laces of the 5. The flat laces lay better and don't twist nearly as much. The tongue on the 5 seemed short and too thick compared to the 4 and 6. The sole design of the 6 is more visually appealing than that of the 5. If you're looking for a comfortable shoe that offers cushioning and great arch support right out of the box, look no further. These babies don't need a break in period. They are ready to go when you get them.

I have a really hard time finding running shoes that fit well. I have a very short, wide foot and typically wear New Balance running shoes. It was recommended that I try Brooks Ghost since they aren't as heavy as the NB EE shoes that I was running in. I was able to wear Books Ghost 5 in a D width, much to my surprise. I just switched to the Brooks Ghost 6 last week since the differential between the toe and heel height is less than the Ghost 5 (good for me since I am a toe runner). I love the newest model of the Ghost. The only thing I wish is that they came with traditional shoe laces, but that's easy enough to change.

I just bought the 6's to alternate with the 5's while training for a marathon. I loved the 5's from the start but like the 6's even better. I ran 15 miles in them right out of the box, I seem to land on my forefoot a little easier in the 6's than with the 5's. I'm not a large runner, but I prefer shoes with more support/cushion and my legs and feet feel fresher all week in these. I also like the new lacing system used in this shoe, they feel more snug which I like. Colors are great too!

Love them!!

My first run in these was an easy 8 miles. I loved them from the start. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was that the shoe laces seem really short. I keep my shoes loose so I don't even notice them. I have two pair of the ghost 5, which I also loved. I have high arches, neutral strike, wide feet, and weigh 130 lbs. I average 30 miles a week and have never had a blister. They were great for my marathon last year. I will certainly buy more of these before they run out.

Negative Reviews:

This is my 4th pair of Brooks Ghost (started with the 3) and I have absolutely loved all of them right out of the box. The Ghost 6 however I wasn't able to wear at all. I'm not sure what was changed but I knew immediately it was not going to work. The colors are so much better on this shoe so I have been anxiously awaiting the June release date. I have unfortunately gone back to the Ghost 5 until the Ghost 7 is released and I will give it a try.
