Brooks Glycerin 11 Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I have tried just about every running shoe manufacturer in the quest for the perfect shoes, but never Brooks. Last year I tried the Ghost 5 but, they just did not work for me. They fit me sloppily (for lack of a better term) and I was not wild about their color choices or design. I jsve read and heard rave reviews about the Glycerine, but strongly disliked the colors and look of the Glycerine 10's for the price, so I stuck with my trusty Asics Nimbus. In surfing Zappos an awesome looking shoe caught my eye, and I realized it was the new Glycerine 11, so I decided to take the plunge, and I am so glad that I did! Out of the box I was impressed with the build quality. The orange is bright, like road cone hazard neon orange, which I happen to like, but for those looking for something more subdued you may want to try the blue. There is no loose stitching or visible glue seams. The pictures make it look like the grey area towards the rear of the shoe is a thicker plastic, but it is actually a thin screen printed design. The shoes are surprisingly light. In fact, I would say the pictures online do not really represent these shoes very well. They are less bulky and more streamlined looking in person. Looks aside, I was even more impressed when I actually put the shoes on. While it usually takes a few runs to break in a pair of shoes, out of the box these felt eerily perfect. The sole is extremely flexible and feels supremely more supple than my Asics Nimbus or Saucony Rides. There is no separation between the heel and forefoot area on the sole with no plastic in the arch area, and it is surprising how much more stable these feel when running! There is no slapping or rocking when the shoe transitions front to back, which I never really noticed before owning these shoes. I had read that Brooks implemented a silk screened bonding overlay on the the shoes, which I assumed was marketing fluff, but I get it now. Since the overlay is bonded on there is no seams or stitching for your foot or toes to rub against. It also seems that this approach contributes to its light weight too. As you may have already guessed, I am super impressed with these shoes. Complaints? They are pricey. While my initial impressions with build quality are favorable, I hope I can get some extended mileage out of them, but time will tell. These are great shoes!

I am a 77 year old, 175 pounds. I started running in 1977 in the Brooks Vantage and have been through all the major brands since. This is the first Brooks shoe since my beginning and wonder where I've been all these years. I have high arches and can heartily recommend this shoe that reason and also for its superb comfort.

These shoes are awesome. I've put about 80 miles on them already and they feel great running. I run on sidewalks most of the time, and these shoes still keep me comfortable. I've owned 5 pairs of Brooks, and have put thousands of miles on them. They're great shoes, I highly recommend.

These are the best running shoes that I have ever owned. They are very comfortable out of the box, even more so than the Glycerin 10, and they require no break in period. They are also very comfortable with my prescription orthotics.

Neutral Reviews:

Plenty of room in the toe box. Nice amount of cushion. However, the arch area needs to be a little wider to provide support. There is far too much upward pressure, making the shoe uncomfortable This is because the shoe is too narrow. With the shoe being to narrow in the middle, causing the foot too overpronate toward the inside.I hope this will somewhat lessen when the shoe is broken in. Brooks, when designing the Glycerin 12, leave everything the same but make the middle of the shoe a tad wider for more support and comfort. Thanks Zappos for the fast shipping and great customer support. :)
