Brooks Transcend Reviews:

So I was having a lot of knee pain jogging in my all-purpose athletic shoes (nike shox NZ). I decided that a real set of running shoes was I order. I hit Zappos and ordered up a set of these Brooks Transcend (blue), a set of Asics Nimbus 15s (neon yellow), and a set of Nike Vomero 8s (yellow). I also ordered alternate sizes's Zappos. 3rd: Nike Vomero 8: best toe box and mid foot upper of the group. Like wearing a comfortable sock. Really shockingly comfortable in that area; perfect fit. However, my heel slipped around like it does with many Nike shoes. The knock in these shoes is that they don't have the cushioning that the other two do, and that was really important to me. 2nd: Asics Nimbus 15 Lite Show. Good cushioning, felt deeper than the others, but not as soft as the brooks. Huge forefoot gel pad you can really feel. The most comfortable upper overall of the group; it fit well with no complaints, materials are nice, no slippage. No doubt I could wear them all day. The rub for me was that when I wear them and walk or jog, you can hear and feel your forefoot "slap" into the ground. This tells me that where I am striking the ground is not exactly where Asics had in mind. I'm sure for many it isn't an issue, but for my body they just weren't designed for a smooth, low impact ride. 1st: Brooks Transcend. Not without its faults however. The widest part of my foot is pretty snug in D width. Worried me a little but I think it will loosen over time. These are also hands down the ugliest shoes I've ever purchased. They are way worse in person. That said, these shoes are amazing to wear...when I walk or jog the ride is silent...the shoes rolls with my natural gait. Seriously nice cushioning, stable without being them. If you're looking for the nicest ride around...check them out.

I Loved my Trance 11 and Trance 12, having put hundreds of miles on each. I was therefore quite disappointed to find out the Trance line was discontinued but excited to see what Transcend (the style they replaced them with) would hold. I must say that I am not a fan of the styling at all, but comfort and ride are the most important thing for running shoes and in that they excel. They give a nice cushioned ride while feeling extremely light and responsive. Another item of note was the sizing. I usually run a true 13, however the toe box was extremely tight with the 13 to the point of discomfort just wearing the shoe and I had to order a full size larger to get a comfortable fit.

Great support - well worth the price. The best Brooks has to offer. Heel lockdown excellent, toe lockdown even better but there's enough room to breathe and wiggle.
