Great Cold Weather Bag

While this is not a backpacking bag it is a superb cold weather bag when you are truck camping. This bag kept we warm and comfortable in single digit temps during a recent deer hunt in the mountains of West Virginia. Rolls and packs into it storage bag well which was a pleasant surprise as I usually can't get things packed back as tight as they were originally received. Bag is roomy, comfortable and warm for a BIG guy (6' 3" and 285 lbs). I've used it now for a weeks worth of camping over this winter and am as delighted as I could hope to be. Look no further for a warm comfortable bag for big people.

huge bag

a word of warning-this bag is really huge and you will need a big cot or sleeping pad. the standard military cot size will have overlap on both sides so plan ahead. I got the Cabela's alaskin guide model cot and it is just big enough, the outfitter would be better. but is it ever warm. enjoy the cold weather in this bag.

The bag was well built. A bit heavy but would keep you warm down to -30.
Problem was the first night out the zipper stuck half way down and was locked up. I froze and had to leave camp and loose my dream hunt.
what a dissapointment from a company like Browning that I have many great items from.

McKinley Bag

I purchased this bag for cold weather. I used for the first time last night sleeping on my back porch. I went out at midnight as the temp had dropped to 9 above. I decided to test it by wearing only my cotton T shirt. With a 2 inch foam pad underneath. I was warm enough to start. I had to get up twice during the night. Nature called. I found it difficult to stay warm later in the night. I finally got up at 6 am. The temperature had dropped to 3 degrees by this time. I think I could have got by fine if I had put some long underwear on and a pair of sox. However the rating on the bag said -30 so I felt I gave a fair test. also I would recommend something for head warmth as my head remained exposed.
