Positive Reviews:

simple, versatile, excellent!

Rating:****
This is a great stove accessory. I use it with my pocket rocket and can't imagine going without it. I disagree with the other user who gave it 2 stars saying it wasn't more stable. The pocket rocket mounted to a canister has a higher center of gravity, and smaller diameter circle of support (the legs of this device are almost an inch wider than the diameter of a typical canister). This, combined with a scorch buster, make the pocket rocket an amazingly versatile and controllable stove -- I even bake on it. Simmer control is excellent with the two valve controls, one on the stove and one on the canister. This also lets you avoid the dreaded maneuver of turning down the stove with a pot that is boiling over. You can use a real windscreen, and also use canisters upside down as others have mentioned, which helps with partial canisters and cold weather performance. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because the legs are free to move and don't set in place for a rock solid base. One of the best [$] pieces of kit I've ever found anywhere.

adds functionality to canisters

You know how canister stoves don't work well in the winter. Well its not a cure but it helps. When canisters are frozen and almost empty they are close to useless when upright but you can flip them upside down with this and it helped my pocket rocket alot.

The wind screen is just a wind screen.

The unexpected bonus for this was how adjustable the remote throttle was. It easily let me simmer with my MRS reactor. Anyone with this stove knows simmering is impossible with the on/ off switch(throttle).

Increase Flexibility

What I see as the point of this thing, is that it allows use of a full windscreen around the burner, without danger of blowing up the canister. In that regard, it works and works well. Handy to have available for extra windy days. I have one and if I lost or broke it, I'd buy another. I wish it was a little more substantially built.

Thanks

Negative Reviews:

Fancy but not practical

Rating:**
This product is of little use. I have a pocket rocket stove and thought this would give me a little extra stability. Fact is that the legs do not spread out far enough to give any more stability than a 100g (4 oz) can would anyway. Still my best solution for a stability problem is to dig a shallow hole and sit the can and burner in it.
