Indispensable Travel Wear

I had two of these on my multi-month trip to Asia. They were among my best travel gears. In hot weather, it kept me cooler by keeping my hair out of my face and neck. It also helped to prevent sweat from dripping down my face. In cold weather, it acted as emergency hat/earmuff (You'd be amazed what a thin layer of fabric can do to keep you warmer!) Occasionally, I also bundled the fabric under my nose to act as a mask when the exhaust from buses and jeeps became overbearing. Lastly, I sometimes use it to wrap my hair when I am on dirt roads of Asia or dusty backpacking trips to keep my hair cleaner which helps when I don't have the facilities to wash my hair every day.

Versatile & good for all weather

I bought my buff a few years back when I had dreadlocks. It was the perfect headwear for them. I could ear it like a sleave over my dreads, pull it up over my forehead for sun protection, or roll it up and put it over the top of my head like a headband.

I cut off my dreads about a year ago, and I still use it all the time. In the winter I wear it around my neck for a little extra warmth. In the summer I carry it with me when I'm hiking and use it for sun protection. I even use it as a sweatband when I'm playing soccer.

It's a great, great piece of clothing!!

Wear it all the time

I like mine a whole lot. I bought one of the original Buff's and i misplaced it. I went back to REI and got the coolmax (the lotus bronze color) buff. I wear a lot of orange and red, so it goes well with a lot of what I am wearing. I always wear it as a headband. I work at a daycare, and I wear it outside when I am playing with the kids because it keeps the sweat out of my eyes. I definitely plan on wearing this at school and when I am able to go hiking and walking trails.

I love this product! I have very long hair that I can sit on that gets very hot in summer and is very heavy. On top of that, I am supposed to be extra careful to protect myself in the sun. I was so tired of constantly adjusting bandanas on my head and re-tucking my hair in, and then discovering my hair part on top of my head was sunburned after wearing regular bandanas. I got the BUFF with UV protection...WOW! The versatility of all of the ways you can do this thing up really tamed my mane. Get this!!!

Dreadlock Love

I love this thing! So versatile and comfortable. If you have dreads why don't you have one of these?!?! I have seen products similar to this made of fleece. Fleece doesn't provide UV protection and would just make me sweat my rump off. It is perfect for hiking, keeping my locks protected since they don't hang down much past the length of the Buff. It wicks moisture away splendidly. Even though the price seems a bit steep for such a simple idea I had to have one for the sun protection.

Good buy

I was hesitant to buy this because [$] seemed like quite a bit of money to spend on a piece of fabric. But it is well worth it. My hair is really slippery, and regular bandanas NEVER seem to stay in place. These are made out of a stretchable (thin) fabric and are sewn like a tube. They breathe well, don't budge, (no matter what I am doing) and I pretty much forget it is there, which is awesome. I highly recommend them. (I even went out and bought another one.)

Very versatile

I just recently graduated high school, and I'm headed to Maine in the fall for college, so I have been stocking up on gear. I bought this version and the original Buff. This version offers great protection against the sun, and it breathes really well. I've worn it while kayaking and playing beach volleyball, and it has stopped me from getting burned. I have also worn it at night around my neck, and it has kept me plenty warm. This thing is very versatile, and stylish.

Love these!

I am an outdoor instructor, spending 6+ hours outside in the sun on a typical weekend day. My Coolmax Buff helps keep me cool. It also helps keep the sun off my neck. I've got about a dozen Buffs in various colors - both CoolMax and original. They help keep my helmet from getting nasty inside (easier to wash the Buff than the helmet liner) and they make a great fashion accessory as well.

Works great in the desert!

I have wanted a Buff for a long time, but hadn't found the CoolMax version in a color combo I liked, until this one. I am SO happy with it. It is just as versatile as advertised and EASY to use. I hike in Nevada and my head/hair/neck stays cool and protected from the harsh sun. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great for the temporarily hairless!

Having chemotherapy for breast cancer and needing something that was comfortable but not too boring - like a scarf - the Buff proved to be totally cool. It keeps my head warm - it stays on and with a pony tail hair tie, I could dress it up. Really made me feel totally OK about going out with my bald head. Thanks.

Unfinished edges?!

Just bought this at local REI store. Somewhat shocked to see that the fabric at either end of the buff "tube" as it is designed appears to have been hand cut with scissors by a human that cannot cut straight. Seriously. Jagged, unfinished fabric at both ends of the Buff. Are the edges supposed to come finished with something??

Going back...contains nanotech particles

Was so disappointed to get this home and peel off the price sticker. Underneath was a reference to Polygiene used in the fabric. I went to the polygiene website and learned that they are using silver nano-praticles in their material. The Buff is going back to REI today. Shame really because the product was nice otherwise.
