Buffalo David Bitton Asymmetrical Faux Leather Jacket

I've owned and worn this jacket for three days and each day I've worn it, a random stranger has complimented me on it. Finding a good looking faux leather (a.k.a. pleather) jacket is tough--particularly if you have a specific style in mind. As a vegetarian, I rarely wear leather and as much as I like the look of leather I can't own a jacket made of leather. My online searches and hitting the streets of the East Village and Lower East Side of NYC scouring the best vintage stores netted me nothing. I finally stumbled on the Buffalo David Bitton jacket during one of my searches and got very excited. I wanted a vintage style jacket and I didn't want it to look like it was made from a shiny black shower curtain. This had the look I was going for. The photos represent the jacket well. The texture of the jacket is soft with a dull finish and a hint of sheen like you might hope to find from a quality garment. It's got a bit of heft like a real leather jacket. It's pliable and not stiff--unlike several others I considered and read reviews that said they took weeks to break in--if they broke in at all. The seams are well stitched and look like an authentic leather jacket. They look like they will last for some time. The zippers and metal accents are solid--really good looking and not cheesy. Buying online I was concerned about the fit. Other faux leather jackets I tried on varied in fit even if they were marked the same size. I'm 6'5" and my arms are long. Usually an XL will work for me, but if I had to order XXL I was concerned the body of the jacket might not be tailored enough. The XL fit perfectly--roomy enough and flattering in the cut. What's also nice about this jacket is that it can look dressy or kinda cool and funky depending on what you pair it with. One suggestion I will make is that you get it out of the plastic bag it comes shipped in ASAP and hang it somewhere it can breath. It really needs a few days to get rid of the PVC smell, which is pretty intense. Hang it outside or in a room with good ventilation so it can off-gas. Clean it up with a damp cloth if something gets on it--that's it. I'm thrilled with purchase--I hope it wears well for a long time and lasts several years.

Pleasantly surprised

This jacket style was a little trendier than I usually purchase and I hesitated to purchase a leather jacket that I might not wear that often or tire of. This was a good solution. It looks like a leather jacked and I won't be upset if I tire of it in a year. I can also wear it in bad weather without worrying about damaging leather.

Nice Jacket

This jacket was nice. It just didn't look right on my husband. We ended up taking it back.
