Scout Scope Happy

I have a Marlin 336 30-30 (really OLD) that I haven't used in years. Surprise, now that I wear prescription glasses (progressives) I couldn't see the target, the front and the rear site at the same time. Stumbled on the "Scout Scope" idea and went with it (Burris 2.75x Scout Scope). Make sure you research how they are used and installed (it is as easy, just a little different than a regular scope). It works great. With my glasses on I can clearly see the target, the cross-hairs and find the target FAST (both eyes open). The image is bright and clear. I have had no problems with it. Even in gusty 15-30 mph winds I can put 4-5 shots (out of 7) in a three inch circle at 50 yards. Haven't tried farther out yet.

Goes Good on Garand

I mounted the variable power on one of my Garands, atop an Amega "mini scout" mount. An excellent combination. It was necessary to add a cheek-piece in order to get proper eye to scope alignment, but other than that, it's a great setup. The eye relief is excellent. With both eyes open, it allows for (in decent light) a very fast target acquisition. Well done Burris... well done.

it's a shooter

Works great on my Ruger Scout Rifle! I used Warne quick-detach 1" low rise rings, which gives it a nice natural feel. Scope and cross hairs are very clear on lower power. When at 7x power the cross hairs are not quite as sharp.

Negative Reviews:

Not up to standards

Mounted scope on Marlin .444 guide gun with Warne rings. Scope has great clarity and great eye relief. During first range singhting in session, a gasket in the eye piece blew after 6 rounds. Scope sent back for repair. Not happy.
