Burton Encore Jacket Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I needed a new jacket this year, and since my last Burton jacket lasted for 13 years I decided to get another. I love the attention to detail that Burton puts into its gear. I debated between this jacket and another, but ended up choosing this one, primarily because of aesthetics.
I like most things about this jacket. There is enough pockets for what I need, the fit is comfortable, and the hood and neck closure are comfortable and do a good job of keeping the weather out.
The one thing that it lacks that I want in a jacket is wrist gaiters. This jacket does have a little elastic thing that is supposed to go over your thumb to keep the sleeves from riding up when you take a spill, but I haven't been using them much because they aren't super comfortable. I find myself wishing I had been able to find a jacket I liked with the wrist gaiters, especially since this will likely be the jacket I wear for the next several years. That said, I am not unhappy with my purchase.
Overall this is a good jacket with most of the key features.

Traditional to loose fitting, mid warmth and great waterproofing equals a hell of a good time on the slopes.

Neutral Reviews:

Would have given this jacket 5/5. I ordered the "Turf Colorblock" but when it arrived, I saw that the bottom stripe is a very bright green as apposed to the dark blue pictured on dogfunk. It did not look nearly as good as the picture, in my opinion.
Aside from the turf jacket, I don't know how burton thinks any of those other color combos might be appealing. I'm not trying to look like a rainbow flying down the mountain. This jacket preforms very well but it just needs better colors.
