Deep in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, between the Canadian border and an interstellar vortex lies a mountain with no name and the first ever Burton AK 15L Pack Backpack. Distinguishable only to the most skilled trackers, no roads lead there, and disputed land litigation keep prying satellites from zeroing in on its pristine slopes. While the pitch is steep and the snow is blower, only those with a true heart will see through the spirits of the thousand dead elephants that haunt its bowls and faces. Should you come across this fabled peak, at its base you will find a solitary van. How the weathered van got there, most will never know, but behind it's heavily tinted windows and wall-to-wall shag carpeting you will find the first ever Burton [ak] 15L Pack, or so the story goes.
Burton made the AK 15L Backpack for shred-monkeys who like to travel light in the backcountry. This compact pack carries your deck, shovel, and poles externally, and fits grub and tools in its main compartment. The AK's compression system cinches down your already low-profile load, so you'll barely notice the cargo on your back. Hydration compatibility prevents you from getting parched while you hike to that natural QP. Burton designed this backpack with ergonomic suspension for comfortable ascents and unhindered hits. - Fall 2008.

Great Backpack | |

I bought this backpack for school and was pleasently surprised with it. I didn't know it an internal "milk carton" frame but it makes it really comfortable especially for carrying heavier loads. This pack carries several big text books very comfortably where my old jansport backpack would have been very uncomfortable. The snowboard straps work well for carrying a skateboard too. The camelback pouch makes this pack awsome for any outdoor activity like hiking, biking, and skating. The only gripe i have is there is only one small compartment other than the main compartment and it's inside the main compartment. It would be nice if it had some small external pockets. All in all, its a great backpack. | |

| I purchased this pack for this last season. It worked out nice. It carries all the necessities well (probe, shovel, water bladder, first aid kit) but there's not to much room for more than a couple extra layers left. Super comfortable when your board is strapped on the back. Of course the AK construction is incredibly durable and held up well through an abusive season! If you like to travel light, this is the back for you...if not definitely go with something that offers more volume. | |
