Well thought out. | |

I just received my Burton Arctic from backcountry today and I am very impressed. This thing was well thought out. For having all that fleece lining inside, it is still quite light and very pliable. If you need to sneak around the mountain like a silent ninja, this would be a good jacket for it. It has a lot of pockets, 2 hand pockets with warm lining inside + a key holder, (oddly the liner is only on the knuckle side of the pockets though). 2 velcro chest pockets about 6x6 in. An inside 3-in-1 pocket that ranges from 2 little 2"x1" pockets to a 3"x6" and a 6"x6" pocket. It also has a nice goggle/ipod pocket on the other side which is really cool because it's located just inside the storm flap that covers the main zipper... you just open the flap and you have access to your biggest pocket without having to unzip anything. It also has a clear lift pass pocket near the bottom of the inside so you can just flip up to show it. I can't attest to the weather-proof qualities of this thing yet, I should get to expose it to rain tomorrow, and I can't wait to try it out on the mountainside. As far as size goes, I'm 5'8" 145 lbs and I bought a small. The snow skirt fits nice and snug around my waist and the rest of the jacket is a very very relaxed fit. A medium would have definitely been too big. I still have a lot of room to put layers underneath and maintain a lot of free movement. This thing only lacks wrist gaiters and gore-tex (which would probably make it much less affordable). This is a comfy and good looking jacket with plenty of utility, I think I got a great buy.

Nice jacket | |

Jacket is solid, stitching and finish is good and looks like it will last many seasons. Only managed to test this jacket over the weekend in Australia as season is nearly over. Jacket is very toasty as i nearly over cooked in sunny weather so it may be really warm in the cold (0 to -10 degrees). Side front are zippered and the two chest pockets are closed by velcro (not zippers as i was advised). There are pockets inside jacket as well as described under product details. Only managed to fit in a few hours of boarding over the weekend with this jacket and it has kept me dry through out the time. I got a medium and it was slightly baggy/bigger when wearing it against the SW puffy jacket. So far i am impressed with this jacket.

Digging my new jacket - great fit

love the blue. no need to layer, thin-medium base layer will do. pitzips are big enough to cool ya down. It has an ipod pocket. Hood fits over my RED helmet. I was torn between this and the bonfire aero and maybe I am just lanky or have long torso, but bonfire was too short for me. The arctic isn't too baggy and is just right length. (my old special blend gunner was pretty baggy and long compared to this). strange things: no zippers (only velcro) on chest and internal pockets. Also, wish it had ninja cuffs on wrists like the bonfire did. sizing is spot on. I wear large in all my t-shrits and coats, and large fit me perfect.

More than I imagined | |

This jacket truly is more than I even expected. Burton did a great job with this one. The fleece lining gives is enough warmth to enjoy long days in any weather, while being light enough to not feel at all bulky. I am particularly impressed with how it looks. I wasn't expecting it to look quite as good as it does, but it also remains timeless. It really is a one of a kind jacket that comes with a pricetag that downplays its quality and versatility.

Burton Artic Jacket - Great Deal!
| Rating: | ![]() |
The jacket is an sweat deal for the price. I only wore one layer, and was warm the entire time, even as the temperature dropped to below freezing. At times I had to use the vents, just from walking betwen the car to the lift. The only thing that got me was that my handle on the zipper broke off. I am guessing some random tree branch took it out.

| A great jacket that is just a bit wider than "true to fit." I ordered a medium, and there is just enough room for a thick layer (not like you need it), without limiting mobility (I'm 6', 155lbs). Lots of pockets in all of the right places! | |

Good nice comfy jacket!

This jacket is worthed beyond its price ... keeps you warm and comfy in the hill or the city. One thing that could be improved is the outer zipper's velcro (it wears off fast - I think buttons would be better)
