I got a pair of these for both of my kids. I bought Medium for both. My daughter is seven, and in the first grade. My son is nine and in fourth grade, and has small-ish hands. This size works great for both kids. They have played with them in the snow and their hands have stayed dry and warm. My only complaint is that my daughter has a hard time getting both gloves on by herself, and therefore chooses to wear different gloves to school. Outside of that these are the typical great quality that I expect from Burton.
My daughter can play outside for hours in these gloves & not have wet & cold fingers. She did complain of the, feeling too small when we first purchased them, but either they stretched or she got used to them because she hasn't complained again.
We loved the designed of this glove. My son picked the CAMO. It's a great glove but sizing is hard with Burton. You will find they offer Kids, Youth and Boys/Girls. We have a boy, bought youth medium and it's way too small, he's 8 years old in 3rd grade. Sadly we bought it in Novemeber and now the color he wanted for Christmas is sold out. We ordered 3 more pairs to compare sizes, even the Burton Website is confusing!!! The kids medium is the same size as the youth medium and boys medium. My son is 8, and clearly the LARGE is the right size for an 8 year old. I would err on sizing one size up for your children in BURTON gloves to avoid what we had to go through, 4 pairs later!!!!
