Bushnell® Elite 1600 ARC Laser Rangefinder

before making this purchase, I read the reviews for the product, and many others on the Cabela's website. The only negative comments I saw concerned circuit board reflection in the view screen, and poor operation in temperatures below 40 degrees. I personally do not find the circuit board reflection to be a major issue. I have used my range finder in 20 degree weather with no problems. The one thing that does trouble me is the focus ring rotates too easily, and I must constantly adjust it to obtain a clear image. I did index the ring and the rangefinder body with a small drop of white paint that makes the right setting a lot quicker to reacquire. Over-all I think the rangefinder is worth the price paid. My hunting partner uses a more expensive model (different manufacturer) with fewer features. He likes mine.

Great Rangefinder!! Highly recommend

Took this out Elk hunting and WOW!! Off hand I ranged 1758 and 1757 off a small haystack. I had my friend try and he ranged 1758 thats a mile if your wondering. It was also ranging up to 800 yards in bush mode through a blizzard it may have ranged further but thats as far as the hill went that I was ranging during the storm.
Overall perfect rangefinder. Can't wait to compare to my dads leica.
Would highly recommend to anyone looking to easily range to 1600 yards
Only downfall is the display is hard to see during some bright situations but you can hold your hand over the front after its ranged to read it.

Good Ranging average optics

Not as good optics or package as the leica 1600-B but the ranging is just as good.
My friend has the Leica so we did a side by side comparison. The Leica is a lot more compact but costs nearly twice as much. Money not a factor buy the Leica

Negative Reviews:

It did not work when it was cold outside

I purchased this range finder based on several positive reviews even though several reviewers complained about the display. I found the range finder accurate enough but if the temp was below 40 F the unit would not work. If I put it in the truck and let it warm up it worked fine. I need a range finder that works in all conditions so I returned it and bought the Swarovski which works whenever I need it to and in any temp.
