Easy to use

Nothing fancy about this unit. Marks three spots within 10 to 15 yards. Great for finding your way back to camp // pickup // downed game in unfamiliar country at 10,000 plus feet (heavy timber country). This gadget will steer you back if you are lost... use it every quarter of a mile or so. Not really a compass so don't get hooked on it. Besides... these units are only good if the battery works. So pathetically simple to use I'm getting my grandchildren one for Xmas in addition to a decent compass. I wish they had these gadgets when I was a kid.

track back II

So far I find This GPS to be a great deal easier to use, than my older larger one. It is very easy to use and carry.

Negative Reviews:

This has gotten me lost in the woods twice, and I've gone back to using a magnetic compass. Problem appears to be that it doesn't read at all accurately if it's not level, and there's no way to determine if it's level. Going up and down hills is a huge problem, because you can't sight on anything and keep the compass level. I had better results looking for where the sun was than relying on this item. It's not for serious, off-the trail hikers.

Needs Improvement

If you are seasoned outdoorsmen spend the extra money and invest in a more exspensive model. I had problems with the directional arrow not being very true; it will take you the long way back to your camp. Also had hard time picking up the sattilites on an overcast day. The concept is a great idea; you would think that with todays technical advancements that they could get it right; once they do it would be great product.
