Very nice and easy to put together

Easy to put together. Took about 30 minutes to build 2 of them. Bought to complement 2 other sling chairs we've had for over 20 years (different manufacturer) since all 4 of us fought to use our old chairs. My wife loves the Byers' dark wood and says they are more comfortable so we'll probably be buying 2 more soon. I like the construction, the ease of putting them together, and the weight of the wood. The only concern I have is the sling material that feels too thin to be very durable. I certainly hope the last as long as our old sling chairs!

Great Deck Chair

Bought two of these chairs and found them relatively difficult to assemble, but straightforward with enough time and concentration. After assembly, they feel very well constructed. They're sturdy and very comfortable to lounge in. Not sure how weatherproof these chairs are, however, so I bring them in when there's rain in the forecast. They fold up nicely, but are quite long, so they stand much taller than your typical folding chairs.

It DOES fold flat! It just takes some figuring out.

Neutral Reviews:

Ordered two chairs. They are nice- a little low and difficult to get in and out of, but still comfortable once you are there. The directions were awful, though. One chair had the old directions, one had the "updated" directions. Both were bad. Neither one tells you to flip one piece you assembled over before you put another piece on top, so I almost made the mistake two times and had to take it apart. Other than that, it wasn't bad.

Marred by a substantial issue

This is an attractive and comfortable chair made of nice materials. It took quite some time to assemble but quality fasteners were supplied.

However, despite the effort evident in the design to address a major pinch point by making one of the linkages have a 'tadpole' shape, the rear pinch point at the tadpole's tail is just as hazardous. Ouch.
