It does not fit regular hardware store blank ammo. Most trrainers buy blank at those locations. I also could not fit a regular .22 cal shell in the cylinder when I tried just to see if that would fit. You have to buy the ammo at Cabelas. I would not buy another. I had to file the cartridge holes out with a chain saw file in order to make them fit! Pour design in my view.
Not one chamber in the cylinder would accept a blank, purchased from Cabelas. SIngle action did not work. Required three hands to open cylinder, it was so tight. Really needed two hands to use double action, but academic since the thing couldn't be loaded in the first place.
