Cabela's "Perfekt" Hikers By Meindl -
Unmatched Support and Cushioning with Our "Perfekt" Footbed System.
When master boot maker Alfons Meindl finished this series of boots for us, he had one word to describe it – "Perfekt." At its heart is a layer of natural cork that not only protects your joints from shock, but also molds to your feet for custom support. Added to this are Poron™ heel inserts that resist compression for even more shock absorption and a comfortable walking stride. A moisture-managing layer over the footbeds draw moisture away and transfers it to a dispersing layer, so your feet remain dry and comfortable. Full-grain nubuck uppers lined with 100% waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX® membranes keep the sloppiest elements sealed out. And the DIGAfix® lacing system snugs the boots around your instep and heel, eliminating slippage without pinching or binding. Rugged polyurethane midsoles add an additional layer of comfort, and the Multigrip® rubber outsoles offer no-slip traction on loose terrain. Uninsulated for comfort in warmer temperatures. Made in Germany.

Best Pair of Hiking Boots You Will Ever Own

I am on my 2nd pair of these. There was no breaking in period for either pair & the quality just can't be compared to any other hiking boots I've owned. I wore the first pair I had while attending college in Alaska & wore them every single day. They kept my feet warm & dry which is a lot considering it was below 0 degrees for months up there. They were like wearing slippers to me. Sadly, I had to get a new pair after having children because my foot went up 1.5 sizes & didn't go back. They were in great condition after having them for years & I could have kept wearing them. There were no leaks, no stitching coming loose & even the shoelaces were in great condition too. My second pair, I climbed Mt. St. Helen's with. I hadn't used them for a couple years prior to climbing but I had no problems, no blisters & my feet were very comfortable during & after the climb. I plan on using them for another climb to the summit again this summer. When I climbed the first time, I actually had a pretty bad fall. Eventually I lost a toe nail over it (weeks later) but the boots are perfectly intact. Hardly a scratch on them! For the sizing, I only ordered 1/2 size smaller because I planned to wear them with thick hiking or wool socks. They fit perfectly. Never had an issue with sizing. The people at Cabellas recommend a size smaller. If you can, try them on in the store first because mail order can be tricky. I would highly recommend these boots. This is most definitely "you get what you pay for" type of purchase. The cost is a non-issue because you will have these for many, many years and they are well worth it.

super boot

Lady's this boot is wonderful if your outside a lot then buy the boots. My job is inside an out an they are great, i can stand in them an be outside all day. they are on the wide side . because my hubby thinks i have duck feet so they fit great. but do dododo order a size to a half size bigger. i can just fit boot socks in them an that is it. i do not spend a lot on shoes, i look for the best price out there until now, i am tried of bad shoes, so i thought i would give these a try they are the best boot ever they are worth the money...... i am very hard on shoes an did not have to break in either....

LOVE these boots!

I've tried a few different Cabela's boots and these BY FAR are the best ones! I have a pair of the Cabela's outfitter women's boots and I don't like them because they are too big and too heavy. I normally wear a size 7.5 in women's and was warned that a 7.5 in these boots might be too big. I ended up buying a 7.5 women's boot and wear boot socks with them and haven't felt like they are too big. I have hiked around a few different days on hunts and haven't had issues with them. :o)

Negative Reviews:

Failed within 18 months

Within 18 months of wear the leather on these boots cracked at the pinch points by the balls of my feet, where the leather meets the sole. The cracks are more than an inch long and about 3/16" wide. I work in the woods and need water-resistant boots, so these "Perfekt" hikers are now useless for work because water pours in through the cracks. I've had four pairs of Meindl Teton II boots from Cabelas over a span of about 13 years. The Tetons were similar in construction to the Perfekt Hikers. I never had a pair of Tetons fail in this way until they were maybe four years old and were so worn out that I wasn't waxing them any more. I wore the Perfekt Hikers for the same activities as the Tetons and kept them waxed. I'm disappointed with the performance of the Perfekt Hikers. Other things: the Perfekt footbed has an arch in it. Read the reviews of the footbed. Also, the sizing is hard to pin down. I wear an 8 1/2 and Cabelas suggested I order a 7, but they were too small. I exchanged them for a 7 1/2 and that size was okay, but in retrospect probably just a touch too small.
