Definitely recommend!

I got this with my Cabela's bucks, the first serious headlamp I have had. Wasn't sure when I saw it had not much of a reflector, but it's plenty bright, the red LED is good to keep your night vision, and I forgot I had it on when changing a tire in the garage, so it's plenty comfortable. I would get it again if I lost it, it's angle down is adjustable, it stays out of the way and it's very effective. High and low white and red lights.

Best headlamp I've used

I lost one of these and liked it so much I just had to get another. Like that it starts on red LED and you don't have to cycle through different settings to shut off. It's also small, lightweight and comfortable.

Cheaply Made & Overpriced

I purchased one of these in October 2012. The battery door broke off with my first battery change. I was able to duct tape it on, but this October 2013, the light totally stopped working. I threw it in the trash, after confirming my initial impression was correct - cheaply made. Let me add I purchased this only for use during deer season, and it was used VERY little. That said, the light weight was appealing, and had it been up to the Cabela's quality of times past, I would have been happy.

Needs a pivoting hinge

I previously a had a browning headlamp that I used for several years for putting out decoys on the water prior to sunrise. I really liked the headlamp and it worked well until recently. The two features I liked best about the Browning headlamp is it has a pivot feature on the light housing to adjust the light beam up or down and it has an elastic strap that runs across the middle of the elastic band that fits over your head. If the Cabela's brand Alaskan Guide headlamp made by Princeton Tec had those features or at least the pivot feature, I would rate it a 4 or is extremely bright and illuminates very well which is nice when putting decoys out. Again If the Alaskan Guide headlamp had a pivot feature for positioning the light down or up, I would probably rate it a 4 or 5.
