Cabela's Alaskan Outfitter Frame And Harness Only -
For hauling meat out of the backcountry nothing beats a strong pack frame and the Alaskan Outfitter is specifically designed to handle the toughest of tasks. We also added the ultimate adjustable suspension system with a padded hip belt and shoulder straps, much like you would expect to find on more expensive, hi-tech, internal frame packs. The bottom of the frame extends out with a freighter shelf to help support the load of the pack or to carry a heavy load when the pack is removed. Nylon webbing extends from the base of the frame out to the freighter shelf, preventing anything from slipping out. When you're packing out the antlers of a trophy elk from deep in the backcountry, slide the blaze orange compression pod out of the freighter shelf for a secure, steady and safe hike. The heavy-duty frame adjusts from 39" to 43" high.
Weighs: 6.2 lbs.

Cabela's Alaskan Outfitter Frame And Harness Only Reviews:

Great Pack Frame!

I purchased this Cabela's Alaskan Outfitter pack frame for the purpose of an elk hunt in CO this fall. Prior to purchasing this, my friends and I had older pack frames that did the job, but not necessarily too ergonomically. I bought this pack frame about two months before my hunt. I've been training with it. I started with 45 pounds and I've increased to 65 pounds recently walking about 3.5 miles at a time. The pack has no issue with this weight. I typically have issues with my lower back (bulging and herniated discs). This pack takes ALL of the stress off of my lower back and my back could not feel better than when I have this pack frame on. The key is to adjust the pack so it sits on your hips and butt. When you first put the pack on, pull the waist belt as tight as you can possibly pull it making sure that the frame is sitting on your hips and butt. If you have to loosen the shoulders straps to accomplish this, then do so. Then adjust the shoulder straps. You shouldn't carry any weight on your shoulders whatsoever. I'm a large individual, 6'0", 255 lbs, 50" chest, 40" waist and I have no problems with this pack frame fitting me. I would highly recommend this pack frame to anyone that needs to pack back in or get large game out.

Awesome Frame Pack

I purchased the Alaskan Outfitter Frame and Harness to use for several purposes. One was for shed hunting and the other is to pack out game harvested. I have used it to shed hunt so far and it is comfortable and very capable of meeting my expectations. Have not used it's full potential yet, but I am very happy with the quality, fit, and glad I made the purchase.

Best Frame Money Can Buy

I've been using my frame for the past four years and it has hauled out over 20 big game animals without an issue. The belt and shoulder straps are very comfortable and it is easy to strap any part of an animal to the frame. The hunter's orange cover that clips to the frame is very useful and give you piece of mind when carrying out any antlers.

Very good purchase

Very stable and comfortable. I bought just the frame for packing out animals. This does the job very well. Takes the weight well and is easy to carry. Would definitely recommend this to others.
